I think rather than trying to overspend on other positions without a QB (the strategy advanced by the OP) just to make some kind of splash, it makes sense to just pocket any money you had planned to blow this off-season and accept next season as a developmental/rebuilding season.

I’ve been saying this.

If we’re f*cked at QB, you don’t go crazy with portal spending just so you can hopefully win the ACC.
You screwed up and there’s no saving a “special” season. Don’t throw good money at bad.

Put the money to the next season where you can fix the QB and dominate the portal.

You can still win games with average QB play. My main concern is that they aren’t really getting elite players in general in the portal.
