Despite us being 6-4 we are a competent (or quite frankly an average) QB away from at WORST being a 8-2 team that’s in the top 25 and wondering if we will be sneaking into the ACC championship
I think we underestimate just how costly TVD was against UNC/GTech/Nc State (don’t get me started on the FSU game we should’ve been in more prime position to win or take over the game if the Refs didn’t gave FSU nuts in their mouth)
as it stands our:
O-Line
DEs
LBs
RBs
WRs
Should all improve
QB is a massive massive mystery (honeslty so is OC but idk if Vandyke would succeed with anyone)
TE/DT/CB & S are question marks but you know what isn’t a question mark? That our DC will scheme to our advantage (something our OC needs to learn)
Riley Williams/Elijah arroyo should both return but Dawson does NOT scheme up the TEs
We return Damari Brown, J Richards, R Stafford, D Porter (I think?) and D Freeney for CB
Safety is a mystery and we bring in a bunch of recruits in that position. Idk if Kinchens/Williams is the answer there
DT we bring in Burroughs but it’s also a mystery as to who we bring back/will go after
Numbers wise I’m not 100% sure where we are at and who we are after but we NEED:
- a QB
- a DT (maybe x2)
- a S or CB (preferably both)
If we can get upgrades at the positions above I think playoffs (now that is moves to 12 teams) Is a shot.

Compared to this year (where we essentially played the top 4-5 ACC teams) this is a lot more favorable (and yes I know we say this every year)
Again do not underestimate the difference a competent QB would’ve made for us this year. No amount of “Mario the QB killer” or “FYZICAL BRO” can justify that TVD has thrown away at minimum two games for us.
Compared to last year our:

Play is all much much better and has kept us in all of our games this year and most of those, if not all, of those positions will improve next season.
TE is non existent

Safety is inconsistent
If we can clean up those 3 positions being one of the final 12 teams is a strong possibility.
