He's the one with everything to lose, now he's got an arrest on his record, and the fact he plays for Miami he should know the MPD would have a hard on to arrest him even if he didn't do anything.

I commend the young man 18 years old and knowing you would throw his whole life away by smashing buddies face. At that age I would have cracked both their heads open.

What is it with all these guys and "ex-girlfriends"? And ex-wives too. Why in the world would you even want to be around them? My first told me she wanted a divorce, I said "those are best words I've heard in years." Cost me a fortune but freedom is worth the price. I found out she got remarried at one of a hundred post divorce hearings (they always be looking for more money). I reached across the table and kissed her with a huge thank you! (no more alimony). I was already remarried to a hot South Beach model (Miami won first NC that year--she was good luck too.) Personally, I would not give an ex the satisfaction of even thinking I wanted them back.

All that said, you come home and catch someone with your wife, not ex, then all bets are off. No telling what happens then. As a Southerner, killing the smuck with your wife is mandatory. Me, I am armament orientated, so death by sudden infusion of lethal amounts of lead is likely. Wife is probably optional, so I would be conflicted on her.

According to the report in the Herald, he grabbed the dude and dragged him out of the dorm at FIU. No mention of any actual fisticuffs. He was charged with assault but I find it hard to believe there's an actual "assault" case against him that would hold up. More than likely he gets some misdemeanor charge that he can expunge if he completes an anger program. Nothing to really see here.
