J.T. Wilcox from South Florida High Sports had some interesting bits about some of our commits. Talked about the monster pass rush we have coming in with Smith, Thomas and Jackson.

Most interesting, I thought, was his observation that Trayone Gray should be a running back. I had never heard anyone say that before. Curious what others who have maybe seen him play think about that. J.T. seems to think he has the same explosive ability as D Cook.

Just wanted to share the article.

Trayone Gray as a running back makes sense 2 me

that way we can just give it a rest on the Cook and Michel conversation, then go out and stack up on more WR's.

Interesting. Someone just asked that very question yesterday on canestime regarding Gray as a RB.

Gray is..Anquan Boldin..who also looks like a rb when running the ball. He is going to be just like Boldin if we put him at WR...though he i very raw there...stillw ant him as a ball hawk safety.

I would like to bring in Gray, Langham, Dixon, and Berrios at WR.

Due to our safety depth I definitely think gray will be a safety though, and he has the skills to be very good safety.

we'll see how the staff handles it but he seems to have no intentions of playing defense, though I do agree with you that he should play S

Gray will be a game changer at safety. He has all of the physical tools be a instant difference maker at the position, if he can quickly pick up the playbook. With his combination of size and speed and his ultra competitive nature I can see this kid being in the two deep at safety from day 1. 6-2 215 4.5 high school SR is just crazy, those are 1st round safety measurables. He could easily play at 230 and maintain his speed.

Because of the lack of depth at safety he could be the most important prospect in this class. Let's all pray that he makes it in.

My wants at WR:

Langham- Big Body guy
Berrios- Slot/ KR/PR role (Phil Dorsett future replacement)
Dixon- Outside guy
Lane-Possesion big body.

Griffin if he is cleared as another big body.

Plan B's: Lamar Parker for Dixon, Tyre Brady.

I think Gray can be a plus size safety here...and i dont like the depth at that position at all...dude literally can be fighting for two deep time as a freshman. Behind Rayshawn and Bush next year is just Jamal Carter and Fentress i believe.

Reminds me of a faster Rayshawn Jenkins.

I totally agree.

A lot of kids say they will never play a position until they have to make the switch.

Chocolate has never played defense in his life. Always was a QB at North Dade and Gwen Cherry. Don't let the size fool you Chocolate couldn't hit you if he wanted to. I think Chocolate is going to be the next Vernon Davis 6-3 240 4.4/40.

Youre 100% on depth. Gray could step into the field and be in our two deep already. We only have 3 scholarship safeties for next year.

I believe gray can be a better wr than Brady at the next level, but the only way I see gray staying on offense is if we pick up two more safeties. One of our corners is probably going to switch over during the spring because we really have no depth back there. We also have a surplus of corners.

Langham has a very high ceiling and moves well for a guy his size. His hands are huge.
Berrios will be a slot guy and can get sometime at pr.

We have 2 Wrs locked up and are probably going to add two more.

If we don't get Dixon I don't think lamar Parker would fill that spot. In the central-btw game e had like 2/3 drops. Regardless, he's going to be productive in WVU offense.

Gray making the switch to safety is good except im not sure he'll really love hitting. The one issue I have at moving a guy to safety is if he really doesn't even want to play defene is will he make the big and constant hits that being a safety would require? Now if he is then he can be great especially with the ball in his hands. The best thing that can happen though is if UM can find a good safety that they can mold from this class and if they do now the staff can do whatever they want with him

if so then...guys like Larry Hope better look to make the move to safety or get off the bus...because that cb poition seems to be locked up for the next few years...with Corn Elder, Artie Burns already leap frogging them.

Good article, the SFHSS team does a great job.

Gray could be RB or S but he needs to focus on academics.

Why not put A Crawford at safety? Doesnt mind hitting and has shown some coverage skills at corner obviously. Have Tracy Gunter Burns Corn all at corner with experience next yr.

Trayon Gray best position is wide receiver and he has deceptive speed. May not be the fastest on the track but in pads this guy can flat out fly.
