I forgot about Shaq being ridiculed for choosing to go to a 2-17 Oakleaf instead of going to one of the private school powerhouses Kinda like him choosing UM

Miami will win a ring because of that cat when he is here. You don't find kids like that anymore. All these kids now days want to run to the winner. Shaq is the WINNER that makes teams win.

I lived and Jacksonville for 2 years and been going there all my life and never herd of Oakleaf until Shaq. They should ne proud of what they did and him putting a new school on the map.makes it even better for jacksonville

That's exactly the kind of attitude we need from players. Kids who want to drive the program to success, not the ones that are just looking to hitch a ride on whatever program is hot at the moment.

Kid has a good head on his shoulders for 17 years old. We are going to be very lucky to watch him grow even more as a Cane.
 
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to watching Shaq this year as he finishes up his high school career and then as an early enrollee addition to a LB group at the U who can use his leadership ability to escalate success to that next level.
 
I think you're looking at a kid whose eyes are squarely on one thing...the NFL. We will absolutely benefit from having him here but we should always remember what their ultimate goal is....and for stud kids like this, winning at Miami is secondary to NFL prep/ stable, enjoyable everyday college life.

Please explain to me why these kids (Shaquille, Sam) are committed to Golden and not the University of Miami. Have they not seen Al coach or his record last year? Are you saying if Al gets fired and goes to coach Illinois these kids are going to follow Al, even if we were to get a Butch, a schiano, kiffen or anyone else who is better than Al, they would leave because of their commitment to Al and not the University of Miami? Is Al that good of a salesman ( I certainly hope not).
