The jerseys definitely look better with monsters wearing them.Bruh I dislike Adidas but will wear something if it’s dope. Idc about the name. Always preferred Nike more. But is it just me or does winning change the way you look at a uniform?
Cause last year when we looked like a tier 1 program, the jerseys looked better just because of that.
Or is that just me?
i traveled to every playoff game and the gear adidas pushed out was trash. it was even worse for indiana tbh from their own fans.@TheOriginalCane random question for you. When we made our run to the CFP championship game, do you think people who wanted gear (the bandwagon fans or people who like to pretend they always liked Miami now that their team were eliminated) were turned off by what adidas offers? I don’t love what adidas puts out there for us but are we more critical of it then people who have no rooting interest in the team? I believe if we were a Nike or Jordan school more people who don’t care about Miami would buy our stuff.
Let’s not act like Nike doesn’t do the same thing, though. The Marlins teal jerseys sold out in minutes and they have yet to restock. USA soccer jerseys sold out and Nike wasn’t prepared for that. Let’s be fair here.I will tell you a true story, and there are certain posters on this board who can back me up on this.
When we made it to the CFP Final, there was a particular polo shirt that SEVERAL of us wanted to buy. Black polo (they made a white one too) that had the U, it had the 3-stripes, and it had the CFP logo.
We texted each other, we could not find this shirt anywhere. It had been available on at least one website, and then sold out.
One of the guys (who posts on CIS) called CanesWear, and we assured them that we would buy the polo in the quantities required to make it worth their while to place the order. Gave sizes too.
So here are the questions, and part of this is based on my own experiences at NASCAR dealing with branded merch, particularly time-sensitive merch:
1. If you plan on making multiple versions of an item that has a limited-duration component (the CFP logo), why not make enough? Because if you make enough, sure, you might have a few you need to discount later, but you still maximized the ones you sold at the top price.
2. If you are "sold out", why are there still additional items available to be special-ordered LATER (i.e., after the game has been played)?
3. Why make a premium item, and then only sell it via ONE outlet? Why not offer that item to all outlets, particularly the UM Bookstore and Fanatics?
Now, keep in mind, I bought two different items that were very similar. I bought a New Era hat with the same elements (black, UM logo, CFP logo) and I bought a matching polo. The hat was not a problem, I ordered that directly from New Era. So then who is the problematic party? Which company did not have this polo listed ON ITS OWN WEBSITE? Could it be...

Nike's deal with fanatics is also abysmal since the quality and availability of that stuff is trash, but each side has a narrative to push i guess.Let’s not act like Nike doesn’t do the same thing, though. I picked up a white Vineyard Vines polo at the National Championship this year (fan convention near Miami Beach). Plain white, U logo on the left breast, with the national championship logo on the left sleeve. Very clean. Great quality.
For Miami polos, Peter Millar, Rhoback, Johnnie-O, Vineyard Vines, etc are my go-to. I'm a golfer, and Adidas has always made sub-standard polos IMO. Not terrible. But why would I spend $80 for "OK", when I can spend $125 for quality?
I'm hoping Holderness & Bourne comes out with collegiate polos this year...

IMO - Decent show, appreciate his research, but that is not "The Real Reason" Miami will stay with Adidas. That is the story people want to hear -- his story is a collection of data points to support the apparently already made decision and sell it to Miami fans and alum as a good idea.Peter is such a bull****ter. OK, so Nike wouldn't make a "gold swoosh" or a "Saquan Barkley" shoe for Pedo State, and THAT is like what happened to Miami in 2013 and 2014 when Beta Blake was siphoning money away from our players' equipment? Uh, no.
I have already said it on other threads, adidas has been doing a good job of building up NIL money and HS-recruitment over the past two years. Is that supposed to be some unsurmountable lead that Nike can't overcome if it chooses to match head-to-head?
Give me a break.
Anyone remember those uniforms in 2015 and the font for the first 3-4 games? Sweet fancy Moses....
Lmao thats all you got huh, must of been a night for you last nightYour comeback game is beyond embarrassing. Pretty painful to read.
Right but you remember the font they used for the first 3 games? Then they changed it after Nebraska.2015 AND the first 4 games of 2016.
