100K!

Spoke with a friend of mine who works with the team and he confirmed it. (over 80K just for the 14K gold alone - not including the 4000 sapphires - or the labor) Didn't realize it was a brand new chain that's longer and heavier.

He said Diaz paid out of pocket (around 70K) for the first one and they still have it locked up. Doesn't know who paid for this one.

It makes it even more laughable that other schools try to steal our thunder with things anyone can buy at Party City.

I read somewhere that the total cost was 98K.

The skill and detail to make that are **** impressive.

The TO Chain is a great new tradition that sets the bar for CFB.

Just like the smoke entrance started in the 80s that most other programs copied as well.

$100K for dat bling bling? If it was only $1, it isnt like the NCAA Inquisition needs an excuse to start digging in SoFl chili. I hope the program treads very carefully with this.

It isnt like Miami players can post their latest Jet Mag pose on Insty with their new sports cars...I mean...isnt that just reserved for Bama and Clemson pros...er...I mean student-athletes?

So if Diaz paid out of pocket for it, if he ever leaves does he take the chain (s)? can he donate it to the U? If CMR can donate a mill for the IPF, Diaz should be able to do the same?

At minimum I would like to see the old U shaped chain displayed in our hall of fame area or in the new recruiting area that we are building in the IPF.

Not a violation at all, they're not giving it to the players to keep.

when that first pic leaked on here I really hoped it wasn't the chain cuz it didn't look good at all. but when it debuted at the game, god**** if it didn't put a smile on my face. nothing will beat the original, but even this is lightyears beyond anything any other team has tried to do

If they are changing it every year why not auction it to some super fans and add it to the athletics fund.

not sure if they're changing it every year or just did it this one time because they never got a trademark for the original. UM didn't make much of any money off of the merchandising for it because everyone went to Dyme Lyfe for turnover chain gear

I have a hard time believing Diaz paid for the first TO chain with his own money.

I wondered why they would make a new one at all to start with. This makes sense with trademarks and merchandise. Plus the ones people were buying looked so cheap. Hopefully this leads to some quality control.

Why not just make it fake? That is a giant waste of resources. We could have used that money for better assistants.

Wasn't it said last year that Wilfork and some anonymous ex players paid for it? It was to remain a secret?

the dyme lyfe ones looked good and were over 100 dollars, I do remember hearing the metal for the U was too heavy for the chain portion and a lot of them broke. So now they switched to a cheaper plastic making it cheaper and more durable

You are a mean person.

The F$U Turnover Man Purse is made of the finest rich Corinthian leather. F$U's Medical School of Animal Husbandry raised a special red cow from birth in order to create the Man Purse, which is why they are only debuting it now (if you go on Warchant, some anonymous F$U poster will tell you that they created turnover trophies back in the 1970s, and that everyone now is just copying them, just like with the "4 fingers in the 4th quarter"). The zippers are 48K gold alone - not including the 4000 cubic zirconias that are bedazzled on the interior of the Man Purse. If you unzip the Man Purse, you will find Ronald Darby's old iPhone with the video of all of Jameis Winston's rapes.

That ****e is priceless. Worth WAY more than Miami's cheap turnover chain...
