New tight end coach Mike Viti

His line won a Joe Moore IIRC.

Interesting for him to leave that place. Always figured they don't do that, I guess we gave him some money lol

Used to deal with high school relations, so probably a recruiter at heart. Have some questions in regards to schematic fit.

Valid points. I'd guess that, as wonderful as it may be to work at Army for so long, in some ways it becomes limiting to one's growth as a coach.

What ?’s? Not saying you are right/wrong, legitimately curious. Like I said above, I personally think he fits right in so just curious why you think that. Army is a smashmouth ball club and their OL/TE’s are strong especially in the run game. I think he is a clear upgrade over Woodiel. I’m surprised we were able to poach a long time service academy coach though but I like it.

I think he is questioning whether we will ever use a tight end for this thing called "pass receiving" ever again...

Guy is a badass. Have met him many times and he recruits my area a lot. Have seen several kids go play there from my area.

Does a ton of work for veterans and has a foundation for fallen war heroes. Think he earned a star during his own deployment.

Love the cultural fit if nothing else.
**** yeah

He must have had Mario worked up in a lather during interview process where he talked military, discipline, schemes and physical football.
Dude had to smoke a few Marlboro afterwards.

Perfect fit. I wanted our TE coach hire to have a good background with Oline work, which he certainly has

Def valid, but that is our identity, whether we like it or not. He matches our identity perfectly IMO. I think this will greatly benefit our big TEs like Gilbert and Mueller. .02

Fair, but I think that both he and I would like to see more PASSING production from our tight ends, given that we are Tight End U.

And I'm saying this as a guy who met, in his very first freshman Engineering class, a certain guy by the name of Rob Chudzinski.
