New tight end coach Mike Viti

Guy is a badass. Have met him many times and he recruits my area a lot. Have seen several kids go play there from my area.

Does a ton of work for veterans and has a foundation for fallen war heroes. Think he earned a star during his own deployment.

Love the cultural fit if nothing else.
I can't wait for his pre game speech.

This move tells me we’re finally going to the flex bone . All the rb’s returning makes sense now.

perfect cultural fit and he’ll actually make his room work and not be soft on blocking duties. But I’m scared we are making the room too one dimensional. I can’t imagine he has any experience with passing concepts.
Maybe I’m wrong. But doesn’t the WR coach help with receiver drills? I could way out of turn here but anytime when I played the TEs did blocking drills with the OL and receiving with the WRs.

As far as the concepts, it doesn’t seem like our passing concepts are that deep with the TE position. Seems to be flat routes and seam routes. Just that Baumann was *** at even the basics for us.

Army runs the triple option offense, UM doesn’t. Hopefully this works out it’s not like Woodiel was that good to be honest. I think this hire might be an upgrade.
I wonder what concepts he brings in the rushing attack. Not that I think he’s going to incorporate the option, but outside runs have been either A, nonexistent or B, just bad. The option obviously is heavy on outside runs in addition to the FB dive.

If anything, it shows Mario is willing to get outside opinions on his baby(the OL). That within and of itself is a big deal imo.
