Dee Delaney gone to the NFL draft

Malek Young Career got cut short *prayers up*

Who do yall think is going to replace them, i got javinte Dean if steps up at corner in the spring and Ivey or Campbell/Surtain if they come?

Too early to discuss, IMO, without knowing who is coming in via freshmen and transfers and who is leaving besides the kids who graduated or retired (Young).
 
MJ & Bandy. With Dean third cb in. Young guys will get plenty of burn as well.

Mike Jack had a breakout season & tied for the team lead in INT's, he's returning for his Senior year he'll be a starter.

Bandy has that Nickel role locked up, can also play Outside Corner too, he'll be a starter.

Dean will get his shot to get reps in the role opposite of Mike Jack, but I don't think he'll be the full time starter the whole season.

DJ Ivey especially being an EE has a great chance to be a starter, kid has great technique & footwork but needs to add weight.

My personal favorite Alphonso Jr unfortunately isn't an EE, but I think he's really talented & is a very skilled Press corner with good physicality. I expect him to hit the ground running despite not being on campus til Summer/Fall. I think he'll have a Bandy like uprising his Frosh year.

Gilbert Frierson imo is the most naturally gifted DB in the 2018 class in terms of pure ability, he's an absolute freak of nature. I think he's the quintessential Free Safety, but apparently the staff liked him at CB & the fact he's an EE gives him a great shot at it as well.

I think they'll all play, I don't how young they are, they need to play. Delaney was an experienced vet & he still struggled at times during the year, so there's no excuse to not play every one of them, I really don't think any of them should be shirted.

You left out Knowles.
 
I think we may have to add a grad transfer for the 3rd year in a row at CB. We are only returning 2 guys with experience at CB. Dean didnt play much. We got blades, Ivey, and frierson but you just never know whether a freshman is gonna be ready, well see. I think we need more experience. Also, i hope this doesnt mean Diaz is gonna play even more base defense. I cant watch another year of our lb's getting torched in pass coverage.
