New qb take...

I want the best player. It appears Jarren has possibly had the best camp. Although we don’t see everything and who know what the coaches have seen in film.

However, I can’t see starting Jarren in his 1st game against uf. Not fair to the kid.

I see a scenario where Tate starts due to his mobility. Maybe Jarren gets the start next game.

Either way, I see packages where Tate may enter the game down the road regardless.

Perry transfers.

I’m just guessing.
🤷‍♂️
Are you just guessing or REALLY hoping? Lol

We need to start the guy that can throw the ball the best.UiF will have true freshmen and guys that have no starts back there trying to keep up with our TE’s and WR.

Just give me the guy that can get the ball to our guys in space.I don’t need a guy that can throw a ball 80 yds or through a wall.15 yds in the right place to the receivers is all I’m asking for.

Perry would ball out in that verticle offense that Briles runs. That’s facts.
Perry would absolutely be better in a offense where he can let it rip, not worry about pass pro or worry about more than 2 reads. That’s why Perry won’t be the starter here with Enos and couldn’t win a job handed to him by CMR on a silver platter last year.

My guess (and it is conjecture) is that Tate mastered the playbook during the summer and knows it "cold". Jarren is probably the better QB but is not well versed in regard to the playbook. [I trust Enos 100% on this. Am with him 100%.]

I like where your head is at but it’s not that simple. We have guys that can throw to the outside well but not the inside and vice versa. Jarren is the most accurate except throws deep balls short. Tate can’t throw outside but throws short, middle, deep. Perry makes more wow throws but can’t keep deep balls in bounds consistently, outside are perfect or way off, short is ok, and over the middle he’s a liability.

Our best bet will be with the TE’s over the middle of the field...play whoever can get them the ball cause UiF will have zero answer for them..

I used to see transfers as a guarantee. But this isn't a normal QB race, where the 3rd guy on the depth chart has no shot at ever seeing the field. Especially with the gap between 1-3 being so small. Any of them could go from 3rd man to starter in a week. All it takes is an injury. If the #2 guy plays poorly, you'd have to think a QB race likely opens up between the 2nd and 3rd string guys.

Tate is the best answer for UF in that scenario. I prefer he starts against the Gator. Then eventually Jarren takes over. I know how it sounds but I want to win every game with no growing pains. I don’t see UF beating us with a QB that hits short passes, TEs down the middle, occasional deep balls, and can run. Especially with a suspect OL.

I agree...

So a 5'9 QB is gonna be good at throwing to tight ends over the middle??. Thats the one specific thing that he is not going to be good at!! I would agree with you about the growing pains of Jarren, unfortunately Tate has never started a college game in his life, yet along even participated in a competitive one so he has no more experience then Jarren.
