New OB projection Miami vs Bama

It's not even about Bama. It's anyone. Just bring on the Orange Bowl. The notion that people don't want to play in the OB, whether it be against Bama or whoever else because of some nonsense "momentum" headed into next year is one of the most laughable points ever made on this board.

You want the biggest and best stage you can find. We're out here competing with the top programs for kids and you want to beat App State in the Sun Bowl? FOH. Totally moronic. I don't care if it's Bama or the 49ers....if you want to build the program, you want to showcase it on the best and brightest place you can. And if you get beat, so be it. But you want kids to turn on the Orange Bowl and see Miami running out of the tunnel. Nobody watches a bowl game at 2pm on a Monday afternoon.

I dont get why some on here dont understand that and are scared to play in it.

2009 Sugar Bowl- an unmotivated Bama team lost to the Utah Utes (at the time, they were a G5 school). I'm not saying Miami will pull off an upset, only that lots of Bama players looking at the NFL draft may not be interested in risking their health for a meaningless (for them) game. Game would mean a **** of a lot more to Miami.
Yep I also see how this will be like our NC but for Bama most players will be thinking about the NFL Draft/next season practice game.

That wouldn’t be 9-3. If they are 9-3, that’s 2 more wins over Pitt and UVA. They’d 10000% be ranked. The question is, would they be ranked after being prison raped by Clemson? I’d say probably not, but I still think a 9-4 coastal champ VT will get the Orange Bowl.

Bottom line, root for everyone to go 1-1. Pitt, UVA, VT, and Wake. More mediocrity helps Miami.
there is an outside chance that an 8-4 Miami is in the CFP top 25. I agree that if the OB has a choice, they probably go with the Coastal Champ just to not ruffle ACC feathers as all would travel well enough.

No offense, but if we thought Wisky put a beating on us last year, Bama would be much, much worse. I don’t know what kool aid some posters have been drinking, but beating Pitt, UVA and Louisville (and FIU and Duke) is child’s play compared to Bama, Tua or no Tua.
If our players felt the way some of the soft fans do we'd be on the verge shutting the freaking program down.

Play the game. If you lose, you know what you need to do to get better. Then you play again, and if you're still not there you keep working to get better.

If you're never tested, you'll never get better. This pussified approach to competition is sickening.

I would love to play in OB as long as it is a team we can beat like UGA or ND ect . Bama will wax us even without Tua . Winning the bowl game is vital for next season and momentum / recruiting and getting beat by 2 TD by Bama would kill it .
you don't think Georgia or penn state could do the same thing, because thats who the other teams likely are. Who cares who it is? we have the talent to compete with anyone if we show up and play together.

Have a little confidence. The past is the past.

The thing that matters is we've looked really good the last two games.

Didn't feel like making a new thread but it's technically Orange bowl related so I'll put it here. SIAP

Rode one at Disney this past weekend and it was actually pretty enjoyable. No idea if it will work at HRS but it did at Disney.

At some point, this team has to grow the f**k up and play a real club outside of the Corstal. If that means we have to play Bama, so be it.

The good thing is, that team won’t take us seriously.

Our team speed matches up better against UGA. All of this "anytime anywhere" talk for Bama would be fine if we had depth in the secondary and along the OL but we don't.
