Oh poooooor Goldens is the first head coach who's ever had to deal with external stuff that's out of his control. Just wait. Just You Wait until we're able to field a team of all 5th year seniors and we're not depending on guys like from the previous regime anymore.

If the game was best cliches by a perceived victim, then Golden would be the Lombardi of his day. Too bad coaches get judged on W's and L's. That's just not fair for Al.

1. Why is it not fair for Coach Golden? It might not be right not, but I expect he's going to do just fine in the W/L evaluation when all is said and done.
2. Perceived victim? It seems to me that he is a victim--only he hasn't run from it and, instead, has fought through it.
3. Hopefully, he will have some "Lombardi of His Day" consideration at the end of a long and wildly successful tenure at UM.

Yes, judged by wins and losses relative to the situation. Coker winning a NC when he inherited a Ferrari is not as impressive as Golden doing what he's done with the rusted out Pinto that they left him.

So it's just about the Win-Loss record? OK. Well, 63-9!!!!

Seriously, there's no context with certain people...

Like Golden or not, ALL Cane fans better hope he succeeds. We couldn't get any HC to take the job after Dennis--Butch was an assistant still. After Butch again no takers and we get Larry and then Randy. We are lucky Al jump the job. As a point of reference: Saban left Howard Jim Kelly as freshman QB but it took Howard 5 yrs to win NC. Howard left JJ Bernie AND Vinny and it took JJ 4 years to win NC. JJ left Dennis Craig and countless NFL players so he fell into one the first year but left Butch nothing and Butch never won one. Butch left Larry Kenny and 2 NFL teams. Lets see, Randy left Al Harris and Morris and a bunch of quitters. I say shut up, give him 5 years, and pray he gives us that many.

It's never just about the W-L record. It's about parlaying what he's already proven he does well (recruit, whip people into shape, promote the program, etc) into wins. We all expect this to happen in 2013. I think some of us have set the bar for him a bit higher (10 wins) than others. Either way, the product on the field needs to get better (duh).

yes but after a reasonable amount of time. 2 years is not reasonable given that **** he's had to deal with.
