New Football Jersey Numbers Thread

Double numbers are the dumbest thing. Our kicker has the same number as Kaaya. Come on.

I don't know, is Colbert going to be able to uphold Dallas Crawford's legacy?

For as funny as this comment is, I will ALWAYS look at Crawford as a true Miami Hurricane and being a team player by sacrificing for the "greater good". Just go back to the 2013 Miami vs. UNC game where Crawford came in for an injured Duke Johnson and carried us to a win.

I will never forget that performance: 33 carries, 137 yards, 2 TDs and a VERY relieved Stephen Morris who threw four (4) INTs that night...

Real cane, good guy, fair talent, bad coaching--all right in my book!

Great Hurricane. Terrible player. We'll never get where we need to get with 5'7" athletically-limited chubby 5 flat 40 guys playing skill spots.

Exactly what "sacrifices" did Crawford make? He had no future in football after college no matter what position he played here. He got on the field a lot for a guy with his limited skill level.

Totally agree. Crawford had no business being on the field for UM.

I think Dallas Crawford would have been better served staying at running back. No, he wasn't a very good running back but he had a nose for the first down marker and goal line. He was a far better short yardage option than anybody who's been on the roster the last few seasons. He was a liability at safety. Guy was all heart but little athletic ability.

Don't be ignorant - Dallas got on the field because he was willing to do whatever it took to be on the field for the Orange and Green. How many guys would have stayed at Miami if asked to move to DB/Safety after going for 558 / 4.1 YPC / 12 TDs as a sophomore backup? How many guys would be OK with being asked to handle kickoff and punt coverage even though they were a defensive starter? You and I both know guys who have transferred for far less.

No one here is pretending that Dallas Crawford is an elite NFL prospect. So why even bring it up?

I liked the kid but he was awful.Should have stayed at goal line back and special teams guy. Like a homeless man's Damien Berry.

What's ignorant is you thinking that Crawford "sacrificed" by getting more playing time at Safety, which, by the way, is the position at which he was recruited, than he would have garnered as a 3rd string RB in 2015.

Why the fck would anyone transfer when they got moved back to their original position and got more playing time after filling in as an emergency RB the prior year? Are you nuts? Pretty sure Crawford asked to move back to Safety.

I for one am in favor for the double digits. They are still growing up and having their favorite number helps with recruiting. So kids even demand a number when being courted by schools. Let them hold onto what's left of naive adolescence until life is ready to "people's" elbow them out of nowhere.

I agree. It's so Dumb. Who's the holder on FG?
If Kaaya is the holder on FG then both players are wearing the same number!!
I don't recall this problem before Golden got here, did he implement this policy or did another coach?
