The State of Florida is "reshaping civics lessons" by requiring that public universities in Florida must assess “viewpoint diversity” on campus each year through a survey of students, faculty and staff that has been developed by the State Board of Education. In signing the law on Tuesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said he was concerned about the free flow of ideas on campus and whether higher education stifles free speech from conservatives. Since the law, which will take effect July 1st, does not address penalties for schools where the survey finds low levels of “intellectual freedom” and “viewpoint diversity,” DeSantis has hinted at the potential for budget cuts at universities that don’t pass muster. The Law is designed to strengthen civics instruction and civics literacy education in Florida’s kindergarten through postsecondary public schools. However, the language of the Law itself has no guarantees or protections against partisan targeting of campuses and/or staff, and specifically does not protect student confidentiality. The University of Miami is private, and will not be subject to this statute.

It's the required "Codes of conduct and disciplinary measures" in the law with accusations, hearings, and penalties that seems like something out of "Animal House". I can picture Doug Niedermeyer and Dean Vernon Wormer types imposing their warped sensibilities... Typical DeSantis ****erie...
