Because it's proven to be quite predictive. Robots > humans, for many things (but thankfully not all...yet).
I'm pointing out that you described those rankings as human rankings, when in fact they were not. We moved up because the computers think we performed better than expected vs. a good team. We didn't move up because humans voted us higher.
