Man, you know I must be bored and anxious when I'm posting a thread like this:

I was watching some highlights that had Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" playing throughout, and that mug just gave me chills. I know we did/do have that joint playing pre-game, but that's before the stadium gets packed or ppl arrive. Right now, we come out to our fight song, but I think it would be dope if on a prime time night game at the crib, we came out to that. Just let that mug breath for a minute, blasting over the sound system, getting the crowd stupid pumped, and right when that drum line hits, the smoke appears and we come through.

That would allow the cameramen to do a panoramic view of our stadium, showing our fans going crazy in anticipation of our players coming out; and while the music is playing, have a behind the scenes view of our players getting amp to come through the smoke. Not only would that create a different perception of our stadium (which is slowly starting to change), but it would just be a great home field atmosphere for a nationally televised game.

Thoughts?

Making wise use of your time @Rellyrell! Great song choice! Those mug shots are chilling. And the drum line is awesome!

I agree, back in the day they would play it when the ball was being delivered before big names seems like it was always by Dominos Pizza.

Yoooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! This joint was my hit back in the day. This would be dope too.

I hate Va Tech, but one thing I like is their entrance during the night time games. Let that Sandman breath for a minute to get the crowd raucous is a sick college atmosphere. But I PUT ON FOR MY CITY??! With the youngsters in the crowd from So Fla watching?? Dog, this might be the truth, homie.

R,
I've always liked the thought of that song as an entrance.....especially the climax !!

As for those asking your age... remember this headline

I'll give Vag Tech that - when they enter the stadium to Enter Sandman, that stadium literally rocks.

Went there back in 2005 when we spoiled their championship hopes; no front, that joint got me excited. We need to revamp our entrance to get our crowd that amp. We're Miami, for God's sake.

Jeezy is from Atlanta though.

Do it everygame. Make it a tradition. That's the only way anyone is televising it. Make it tied to the smoke helmet and you have something.

True that...but I think w/ hip hop, it doesn't matter where you're from. Ppl just apply the lyrics to their own situation. If the song specifically said I put on for Atlanta, it would be different. Regardless, In The Air Tonight is a universally accepted song that creates a certain chill factor. I still bump it like it just came out today.

Start off with televising smoke along with the beginning of the song, then hit the drum solo, and have the team come out to Phil Collins singing.
