Am honestly not trying to be negative, and have no reason to expect it to happen again, but didn't McPherson (Fort Payne AL), the Gators kicker originally commit to UM, then decommitt to the Gators? Then we recruited Bubba?

I don’t think he ever committed. I think he was going to commit after the Miami visit and wound up taking a last minute visit to Starkville and committed there while visiting. When Mullen left there for UF he followed. No comparison anyway as McPherson is a country boy from Ala and Borregalles is a Miami kid choosing his dream school.

Go read about how special this kid is. He is considered better and can kick further then his bro at FIU who actually can kick 50 yard field goals. Great news that Manny can lock up a kid like this a year in advance. Baxa may want to work on graduating early.

Baxa will be a senior and doubt we carry two kickers on scholarship. Teams rarely carry multiple scholarship PK, usually a walk-on is a backup. But we may honor the scholarship but we are starting to get tighter on numbers.

Starting with our first NC, it was our kicker being better than the FSU kicker that decided if we got to the title game or not more times than the noles would like to remember. Ours made their kicks, noles missed.
