New Barry Jackson Piece Shows We’re Fvcked

A BoT’s interns/law school students/minions assisted the mother’s legal team in a case in the Dallas, TX area, where the mother was fighting to give her son, 7 years old, a *** change.

Are you familiar with that BoT’s self-proclaimed “landmark” case? It led to a repeal of *** adoption in Florida (which isn’t the problem). However, it wasn’t really adoption in the modern sense of the word. It was a *** guy and his lover who were picking young kids off the streets in Miami. BTW, his lover was also picked up off the streets and admitted he was picked up as a minor (after the case and after they broke up)

Furthermore, said BoT claims she was instrumental in repealing the ban on *** adoption in Florida. She wasn’t. She wasn’t even a part of the team. She was a part of a team representing the children that were being picked up by the old *** guy. She had one of her own “psychiatrist’ come in and claim the children needed to be with the older *** guy.

IMO, if you are representing the children, you should be doing a honest, thorough job of determining what would be best for the children. Not using this an opportunity to be able to claim you helped repeal a State ban on *** adoption.

In her world, she views LGBTQ rights as the next Civil Rights movement. I find that insulting

First, your entire post is a load of crap.

Second, anyone in law school can do an internship anywhere. It doesn't matter if you intern for a big tobacco company that wants to cover up cancer research, or if you work for a civil rights law firm trying to change current law. That DOES NOT MEAN that the university's law school is somehow being used to advance such efforts. People can work wherever they want to work, and if they don't like what they are doing, they can choose to leave.

Just stop it with your OBVIOUS agenda.

Article was good news for realists. Manny is gone next year with another 6-6, 7-5 record. Everyone knows offense must change and everyone is saying spread is the answer.

I know we've all lost faith in Manny but i cant believe hes that dumb that he wouldnt 1. fire Enos and hire a spread guy or 2. force Enos to change his offense dramatically. No way he is that stupid to trot out the same offense next year. #2 would still be a fail cause Enos is a straight up bad gameday OC/playcaller but then Manny goes bye bye.

Just have to hope he doesnt luck into an 8-4 type season and get a third year. Coastal champs, 10 wins, ACC champ game vs clemson should be minimum expectation
There is absolutely 0 good news in this article. Literally, nothing in it is good.

What’s my agenda? She wasn’t instrumental in that case. She represented the children . That’s a fact

Here’s 1. 2 and 3 are in thread. Need help?

So, let me get this right, you are whining about 14 bathrooms as being the "upgrades"?

Good lord, UM needs to rebuild every single bathroom on campus anyhow.

You are bothered by a new UM alumni group? Did they ask you to join?

You are seriously...disturbed...

I already addressed your idiotic points on "#2 and #3".

You have issues. Frenk’s first order of business was to improve are star rating in the LGBTQ Pride rankings. I think there are more important issues to address before that

Go ahead and name the name of the case since you are so familiar with it. What is your opinion on her contribution to the case?

Blake has no business being an athletic director at this level. A quick and simple read of his bio on UM's website makes that quite clear. The simple fact that some BOT even mentioned that he had won some award as justification for why he should get to keep his job shows you how out of touch this University is with what's important when it comes to fielding competitive athletics programs in the revenue sports.

There is no justification for keeping Blake James on at AD. Exhibit 1-A is how he handled the hiring process for Manny Diaz. He may be a very nice guy with his heart in all the right places, but he is quite simply in WAY over his head.
I said in a previous post that I think Blake sucks. But way too much time is devoted by people on these boards calling for the heads of guys that aren’t going anywhere. Save your billboard money and buy an extra Xmas present for your girl, cause it’s a waste of effort and embarrassing.

That’s why I said hiring Highsmith as director of football operations is the solution to fixing this program. If there is a disinterested president, a subpar AD, an unhappy BOT that is possibly willing to fund the position, and interest from Highsmith, then there you go. Problem solved. Trust Zo to do what’s right with Manny, his staff, philosophy, etc. In Zo I trust.

So the BOT doesn’t want to get involved with the President

The President doesn’t want to get involved with the Athletic Director

The Athletic Director doesn’t want to get involved with the football coach

The struggling football coach has no prior experience running a football program. Oh, and he doesn’t want to get involved with his Offensive Coordinator

We’re a rudderless ship.

We are the Titanic, 3/4th the way down to the abyss.... the rudderless part was 5 years ago.

You are a truly disturbed human being.

Frenk's "first order of business" was NOT to address LGBTQ rankings. He had NO PLANS to do that when he took over as President. He was questioned on these issues AFTER he took over as President, and he chose to take action. As anyone could tell, the "actions" involved minimal effort. Ooooh, he allowed the Alumni Association to add a new alumni group. Ooooh, he reviewed and changed some of the wording in documents to be non-gender-specific. Ooooh, he added a couple of seminars during Orientation.

Other than that...14 bathrooms...and one employee.

Wow, what an unbelievable "agenda" that he advanced (not as his "first order of business", you are just a liar).

It's like this...let's say that UM dorms (of which, until recently, the most recent had been built in the early 1970s) needed to be renovated...and since the 1970s, we have increased awareness of the need to make facilities handicapped-accessible...and then all the new dorms are built with ramps and rails and automatic doors...does that mean that the "upgrades" are meant to advance a handicapped agenda?

Give me a break. I hope that every bathroom at UM is renovated, and that we soon have far more than 14 gender-neutral bathrooms. ****, when I started at UM in the 1980s, there were certain bathrooms in the Learning Center that were known for their "rest stop like" activity. I would be VERY HAPPY to have an entire campus of individual bathrooms, purely from the privacy standpoint.

I support Frenk building MORE BATHROOMS. However, I still hope that Frenk is fired for being a horrible UM President (or is just not extended past his original 5-year contract). Frenk also doesn't give a **** about UM Athletics.

Name the case? YOU WERE THE ONE WHO BROUGHT IT UP. You have not presented a case citation, or even the names of the "UM Law students" who were forced to work for Hilarie Bass. I want to UM Law, I know how it works, I have plenty of friends who still work there. Nobody is forced to work for an attorney, not even if that attorney is the Chair of the Board of Trustees.

The culture in our athletic department is broken. We are witnessing it trickle all the way down from BOTs, to AD, to coaches, to players. We have a BOTs who wont hold the AD accountable, and an AD who wont hold his coaches accountable. Are we surprised that we have no accountability amongst players now? We lost to duke, and coach Manny praised there effort!!! What kind of participation trophy bull**** is that? Coach is not held accountable, so he doesnt hold players accountable.

You angry, emotional, and wrong. Frenk started in August or Sepember. This first thing he did was a 100-day listening exercise that revolved around being an inclusive campus that started in early September. And it wasn't just bathrooms. You can stop with that. I have no problem with anything he did. My issue is that he was brought on for two main reasons: fundraising and to help out with a medical facility. Do we need to get into that?

Here is the letter he wrote after his 100 Day listening exercise that BEGAN FIRST FIRST DAY ON THE JOB

I mean, interesting idea, but as long as the BOT and school doesn't care enough to hire qualified people, I doubt they will hire a football ops guy like Highsmith and have him report to Blake, and I'd have to question Zo's sanity for jumping in to that mess, although I'm sure at least initially I'd choose to be optimistic that his love of the program, school, and city would be enough to allow it to work.

I get what you're saying, but I just don't believe half measures will work, based on 15 years of evidence. Either the school wants to succeed, or it doesn't.

No accountability from anyone in the Hecht. All we get are excuses.

Excuses are tools of incompetence used to build bridges to nowhere and monuments of nothingness, and those who use them seldom specialize in anything else.”
