So my $12 donation to the billboard that’ll look like it was designed by a 3rd grader while he took a dump will fall on deaf ears??
3 year contract is not a valid point. It’s a pipe dream. Recruits will think twice about committing to a coach that might not even be there for their 4 years. Stupid point. Not sure how OP reads that article and comes to his conclusion. Personally I thought that article was positive.
Most rational posters realize Diaz wouldn't be let go after 1 season. In all liklihood, not even after season 2, being that he signed a 5 year deal, as stated in the article (also a very valid point that his contract should've been 3 years).
I read the article to say the BOT is unhappy and they want changes on offense. IMO, retaining Blake but hiring a football operations guy like Highsmith would be a welcome happy medium, if the administration is set on keeping Blake. Not sure what more you can ask for.
If Manny loses 1 of those first 3 games next year, he will have pretty much nailed his own coffin.
All the items touched on and frustrations expressed line up very closely to the fan bases views. I view it as a good thing. With all respect, and I haven’t read any posts in here yet, but I disagree that we’re fûcked. I think this is positive. You have a BOT Member saying Manny won’t survive another year like this, that Blake needs to force changes (which he won’t) and that Blake got suckered into cancelling a national search to scoop up Manny when Manny would’ve jumped from Temple after the search. And they also think the bling and dancing when we are 6-6 is stupid.
How is this a bad thing? There was no way they were canning him after 1 year, even if we know he sucks and they know he sucks.
Huh?3 year contract is not a valid point. It’s a pipe dream. Recruits will think twice about committing to a coach that might not even be there for their 4 years. Stupid point.
There were some good parts, RVA. But it’s very disheartening to hear that the AD is a push over who won’t demand changes, that the president doesn’t care about athletics, and that only half of the BOT is disappointed by what happened this season. Barry was able to find a couple of people who voiced their displeasure, but the sad reality is it’s going to take a lot more than that to save this program. With all respect, and I haven’t read any posts in here yet, but I disagree that we’re fûcked. Sounds like Blake James has more control than people thought. He isn’t just a puppet. He’s in control of this destiny. Manny should be forced to re-evaluate the staff around him
Unfortunately, A few disgruntled trustees won’t be able to make an impact. Not enough of them care.I must have read the wrong article.
I read an article about a trustee sounding as ****ed off as we are and wanting the same things as we do.
If this article doesn’t **** you off enough to donate to this billboard so that giant lazy pu$$y James is finally called out for his direlict of duty as an athletic director then I don’t know what will! Smh if I have to read another article stating “James doesn’t like to confront his coaches on something that isn’t working or to make staff changes on coaches that aren’t producing” then I’m gonna lose my ******* mind! That’s you ******* job Blake, you know to provide oversight for the best of the program you lazy piece of ****! I mean seriously, what does he exactly do there, just sit in is office twiddling his thumbs? One of the most depressing reads I’ve ever put myself through.
Flake James continues to demonstrate that he’s a giant pvssy.
It sounds like UM’s President doesn’t give a fvck about sports.
And half the BOT doesn’t care at all about what’s going on.
Gentleman, things are only going to get worse.

So they want the Bama style of offense but they do not have the O-linemen and they are not executing a do-or-die effort to recruit one this year."The trustee said in his opinion, Diaz “has got to go to a spread offense. He’s trying to run the Alabama offense without the players. We can’t run a power offense; we have no power line. The offensive line stinks, the worst I’ve seen here. You have to get the ball out quickly. He’s got to make a lot of changes. Dan Enos might have been a good quarterback coach, but he’s a terrible coordinator.”
Said this a long time ago.Alonzo Highsmith as the football GM might be the only way forward.
I know man, it boggles my ******* mind everytime that’s reported and this is far from the first time so we know it’s true. Basically what was said there is James does not believe in doing his ******* job which is to manage the ******* Head coach! Unf****ing believeable this guy is still employed. He’s basically telling the BOT I’m not gonna perform all the aspects of my job but don’t forget to sign my check every Friday. SmhSome snipets:
— “As for athletic director Blake James, the trustee said his job is safe.
“He’s done a great job of fundraising, won awards for athletic directors,” the trustee said. “Our student graduation rate is one of the highest in the country.”
— “That trustee said school president Julio Frenk “supports Blake. [Former president] Donna Shalala would fire an athletic director she wasn’t happy with, but Julio would leave it to the board. He’s not a sports enthusiast like Donna was.”
—“I would be surprised if Diaz simply fires Enos, but a parting certainly cannot be ruled out, considering UM’s offensive problems and Enos’ history of changing jobs. I would be surprised if Diaz doesn’t make at least one significant change in some aspect of the program. James does not believe in forcing coaches to dismiss assistant coaches.”
How many 3 year contracts for head coaches have you seen? Recruits would like to have the same coach for their 4 years. Didn’t need to be 5 years but 3 years is stupid.sorry if the math was too complicated.Huh?
The trustee said, and I agreed, that the initial contract should’ve been 3 years instead of 5 based on his lack of HC experience.
What does pipe dream mean? Actually, what does anything you said even mean?
