I think our WR room is finally in a really good spot. The Jacobs pickup looks great now knowing he isn’t expected to be a top 3 guy. Think he is a player that can develop into something potentially lethal. The top 3 of Mali, Vaughn and Barkate is lethal.
Agreed but watch out for Josh Moore. With a year of experience under his belt plus Mensah as his QB he could make a huge leap.

This team will be so versatile and dangerous from every angle, no real weak links to be exploited. Coordinators on both sides are going to have some sleepless nights trying to prepare for us.

Why do you put Vaughn ahead of Jacobs? How would you compare their games?

They were both needed from a skill set perspective but I like what Vaughn brings in terms of the traditional X skill set we haven’t had in a while. Big WR that can beat press man and make tough possession catches but tracks the ball well if we go downfield with him.

He also has produced more than Jacobs. Jacobs is a big play waiting to happen but it was a sporadic occurrence at Scar last year, which is fine. Vaughn has shown he can put up WR1 or 2 numbers, in this offense he will
Likely be 2 or 3 though. That’s not to say Jacobs can’t won’t take the next step himself.

I agree with this assesment. I believe that both have an opportunity to take the next step. I agree Vaughn is the more complete WR and will probably
start.
I know @Cribby likes him alot.

I'm no Danny boy came when it comes to not understanding why there's multiple publications have this class ranked hella low. On3 and espn, Josh Pate didn't even mention Miami in his summer and losers. I expected Miami to get a little love but it's full on hate fest. Someone make it make sense. It's really doesn't.

If I recall correctly their stats were almost identical. With that being said I love the way Vaughn runs with violence matched with his big play ability.

lol We're gonna have 3 #1 WRs and the 4th is a #2 WR at worst. And that's not even figuring in Moore, Upshaw, Wingo, Spafford..

This is by far the most talent at the position we'll have ever had.

This is for sure our best portal class right?

Cam is gonna always be the best individual get but getting an elite QB, elite wr, elite edge in one class is crazy

In 2025 their stats were similar but Vaughn’s 2024 season was easily the best of the bunch.

Exactly what I am expecting. With better QB play, he looks a lot better this past season. When you are a deep threat, but your QB isn't, it's a problem. As much as we all love Toney, and rightfully so, there's a reason he got over 100 catches. I expect Toney's #s to drop next season, but his YPC to go up by at least 2-3 yards, maybe more. I expect our deep threats to average a good 4-5 more YPC than what our outside guys averaged last year.

It's easy to forgive Beck and his limitations since we made it through the playoffs with him playing mostly flawless football. However, what Mensah brings to the table is a feast for Dawson. I just hope he doesn't forget he has one of the best RB rooms in the country. I want to see some "Stretch'em then Fletch'em" this year.

How open is our run game gonna be with the D trying to cover all these dudes?!?! Id even consider sliding Moore at TE some, and have a LB try to cover him.

The ultimate test is going to be whether they start off the season by slamming the run up the A gaps.

This will be the "weakest" O line unit with the worst depth in Mario/Mirabals tenure and likely more unsuited to those runs than previous lines.

It was clear that our best runs were off tackle, and utilizing motion/misdirection.

Will Dawson take advantage of his new Cam Ward 2.0 QB and corps of top-flight WRs, or will he defer back to "establishing the run" which we saw most recently in the first half of the National Championship netting us a healthy zero points. Only to flip the switch and start calling real plays in the second half.

Fletcher is great and they need to use him, but they need to be effective.
