Amazing undergraduate and graduate programs. Shame the marching band is historically so small.

I agree. I just don’t think there’s anything they can do. Relatively small student body, expensive tuition, and as far as I know, there’s no such thing as band scholarships.

There's a couple (the band majors who lead the efforts), but they are just one-year service scholarships (like Student Government President, Miami Hurricane newspaper editor, Ibis Yearbook editor, etc.).

UM (unlike F$U) does not require freshmen music majors to be in the marching band. In fact, most of the band is made up of people in OTHER majors who just do it for the love, because they did it in high school. VERY FEW actual music majors in the Band of the Hour.

Yeah, most of the people in the Frost school are either into a combination of classical music, jazz, or whatever, that kind of stuff. That’s not the only thing obviously. Chad Thomas had varied interest, although he could bang it out on the piano. He could play classical music or whatever. Extremely talented.
