Someone with more gambling experience can you explain the reason to not cash out, pocket say $5k and roll the rest back into the same bet? It’s a win-win just less of an upside

Right now they are offering you a 50:1 payout to hedge against a 150:1 payout.

Line for Oregon or Indiana is going to be at best, -6, that will quickly devolve into a pick em game.

So...you are guaranteed 25k now..or get paid 50k more for essentially a coin flip mathematically.

Take the 25k bud. Unless you don't need the money. This isnt about having faith in your team, 25k buys a lot of bj's and balogna sandwhiches
 
Regardless of whether it's Indiana or Oregon, they'll probably be a 4-7 pt favorite with money line odds around -200. The easy play is to let the bet ride and put 20k or so on the Oregon or Indiana money line. A simple hedge. That guarantees you about $10k in profit if we lose. Drops from 75k to 55k if we win, but I would take that insurance policy and I doubt you'll be too hurt about the 20k if we win the NC & you make 55k.

(There's also a chance the line moves in our favor closer to even, in which case you'd make even more on the hedge)
 
You don't cash out. You hedge by betting on the other team and you will get better odds. I have a similar bet (but for less, $150) and bet $1500 on OlMiss ML at +159. If Miss won I would have walked with something like $2300. Now that there is only one game left, it gets super easy to hedge. What you really want if for us to be favored going into the game. If we are it costs much less to hedge the ML and you could bet the spread and win both bets if Miami wins a close game.
