My son and I are flying in for the VATECH game.

Need a hotel recommendation for a mid range hotel, prefer a Marriott property...

flying into fll or mia? staying near the stadium or looking for another area (i.e. South Beach, downtown, Gables, etc.)?

Grove, South Beach

I’ve stayed at the Courtyard in the Grove many times. Solid enough. Definitely better than the Residence Inn in the Grove and the price can be very reasonable. There is a Ritz in that area too.

There are multiple Marriott properties in the Downtown/Brickell area if that peaks your curiosity. Check out the Autograph Collection for South Beach - Blue Moon and a few others.

Stayed at the Diplomat Beach Resort last weekend for the Georgia Tech game. The price was good for all the amenities. There is 2 different pools and my 6 year old son loved the water park/play area that they have for the kids. Close to Hard Rock Stadium too. We booked our room through Trivago.

Been to the Diplo lots. It's nice enough, but it's corporate and it's a Hilton property. In that area I would go for the Pelican Grand. About the same as the Diplo but smaller - access to paddle boards, etc. included. Nicer beach.

Gove hotels are decent enough, but no beach. Sobe you overpay for what you get.

If you fly into MIA (bad idea) there is an Airport Marriott (at least there was when I lived in SoFL). From there you can jump on I-95N direct to the stadium.
A better idea is to find a Marriott property near Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) and stay on the beach or west nearer the stadium.

If you want to overpay and stay in a crappy hotel, try the beach or Miami. Best of luck, wish you an enjoyable experience.

I typically stay at Marriott properties as well. (also Hiltons). There is a Courtyard off of 75 @ Miramar Pkwy that I typically stay at. Also a Residence Inn next door to it. (and a Hilton Garden Inn across the parking lot). Super easy access to all of the restaurants & shops on Pines Blvd and the freeway. It's also close to my brother's place, which Im sure will be a deciding factor in your decision. :sneakiness:
