I STAND ALONE
And it doesn't bother me one iota. I believe and trust in this staff. I love this staff and I love this team. I love these kids. They've been through a lot and I'm still going to be in their foxhole win, lose or draw.
You guys gotta remember some stuff here. We lost to a team that's undefeated. They won in Blacksburg two weeks ago and we all know what that's been like over the years for Miami. They had two weeks to prepare. I said that stopping the dive man was the most important thing. (many said QB)
We're not nearly as bad as you guys think nor is anybody else as good as you want to believe. 4 of the top 6 teams went down. People here are screaming about us last year losing to Duke. So I guess Bama should be screaming fire Saban now as well.
The reality is (which I've said for several years now), the parity in college football is amazing. People argued with me on this about 2 years ago on the blue board, but I guess...yaaaaaawwwwwnnnnnn, I'm still wrong. Yeah, Michigan goes down to Rutgers and Bama goes down to Ole Miss. Miss St HAMMERS A&M and South Carolina keeps reeling.
We will NEVER get to the top if we don't have consistency and that includes the players and staff. How do you guys think teams like Rutgers and Duke become competitive? It's about consistency. With the program, staff and players.
You get rid of Golden, we will go right back to square one. NOBODY wants that. We're not going to bring in some magician that rights this ship in a New York minute. Not. Gonna. Happen.
One last thing. People ***** about the defense. We're number 53 in the country. Offense is 91. We have a true frosh at QB. We all knew that there would be bumps in the road with him albeit, he's going to be a stud. We all see the potential and upside Brad has and nobody can deny that, but it's going to take time.
Call me nuts, crazy, a jackazz, what have you, but I still think this team gets to double digit wins. I'm not giving up on Golden and I'm not giving up on this team. EVER.
I was in the OB in the 70's with my pop at many games. We stood alone then and was mocked and laughed at by opposing teams with nary 10 grand in the stands. Little would I know that years later, the mocking would rise again, but this time from our own family.
Et tu Brute. We will see who laughs last. I stand alone and I don't fear the future.....I embrace it.
