Or they better hire a team of lawyers because every kid will have a reason to transfer and take it to court. NCAA will spend all it's time/money in court. Lawyers will take every case for free, hoping to win and get paid also. They will stay on board until they start losing cases and be gone. Only way I see to stop it is let every transfer play immediately. What do you guys think?

Martell already all lawyered up per 247.
Hope he wins...:11263272045-489f4f7972-o::sjfd4ytbgaemgtvaw2.jpg:

I don't think you realize how much time and money the NCAA has.

All of it.

I love the portal and am fine with kids getting a clean, efficient way to transfer. But if you let every guy go without sitting a year it would create total chaos.

Coaches would have to re-recruit players every season in addition to getting new guys in.

Imo they should expand transfers for high school kids who's coach leaves before they even start their first season and maybe players who have already burned their redshirts.

Don’t they already let kids out of letters of intent if a coach leaves before they start their season ?

Kids should just say that a fan yelled racist **** at them. What’s ncaa gonna do? Let that get play in the media?

The NCAA will have to try a middle strategy. Something like the old NBA hardship exception. If something makes a transfer fair it will be allowed. Family illness or death, head coach change, probation would likely be the starting point for accommodations.

If that were the case I don’t think any cfb team would have depth due to all the transfers

That the next step and coaches and universitys will be on their hands and knees to not let this happen

Only people that would be all for open transfers other than the players would be the airlines...

The stage already set, to much precident already set. Lawsuit after lawsuit will drain the NCAA and make lawyers very wealthy.
Courts now own the ncaa

Gotta feel for the coaches in this scenario, they only make MILLIONS of dollars and they'd have to actually work to keep the kids who break their bodies happy.

I read that is basically the Fields argument.
That is something that has been well documented tho and the kid was actually kicked out of UGA so he’ll win that easily. That’s different than just saying oh this one dude called me something with no proof to support it

That's a really simplistic view.

It's far more complicated than just coaches making money. You can turn it around and say tens of thousands of kids over the years have benefited from a free education they would have otherwise never gotten. But that would also be a very myopic position.

There has to be some semblance of structure and commitment, not just a year to year free agency free for all.

It’d stop a lot of these coaches lying through their teeth with all their promises.
They would know they lie the kid figures it out he gone the following year.

Kind of what Riley did to Rattler...would love to hear Riley trying to explain himself out of the “ we aren’t going after a grad transfer QB” lie he told the kid.

There shouldn't be restrictions on transfers anyone.. HC, assistants, ADs can 'transfer' whenever they feel like. Saban holds BAMA hostage every offseason for extra $. Why cant kids leave a school when it's no longer a good fit?

The entire system is a joke. The NCAA is holding on for dear life right now. If I'm one of these kids, I find a program my old school didnt have at my new school and tell the NCAA my new dream is to be a 'marine biologist'. If you are going to make me sit out in-order for me to case that dream while playing football, I'll see you in court.
