NCAA Football '24

If it's anything like the old NCAA games, I'd just create my own players and beat the crap out of everyone. You think Mario can recruit? He's got nothing on my roster building abilities.
3 years of 10 five stars each cycle and we are rolling… lol if only we were like that in real life…the satisfaction of scrolling through your depth chart having four 90 plus rated receivers, DBs d and olinemen. Good times.

Absolutely lol you give me 5 years in dynasty mode I'll have us blowing out FSU and Clemson on the regular and in playoff contention

That wouldn't be fun to me. Recruiting should be challenging. And, losing should always be possible.

Everyone is different, though.

When it's released, it will actually have had more than a 2 year dev cycle.

What I've been able to gather, EA knows what's at stake here. They've allotted a lot of resources to this game. It will be a AAA title. It will not, allegedly, be a Madden re-skin.

That said, EA doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. Any and all skepticism is warranted.

I've yet to upgrade to the PS5. If I pay $800 or so for a new system and for this game, I'm going to be steamed if it's trash.
I got a PS5 and I have played one of the exclusives, which was Ratchet and Clank. The capabilities of the console are insane, and I've realized that with a game that came out at launch.

Regarding the dev time, you're actually correct, BUT the official dev time is two years. I'm not willing to give EA more than that, considering it would just look even more pathetic.

If I'd be you, I wouldn't buy a PS5 to prepare for this game. I'd wait a few weeks, watch gameplay footage and then go from there.

That's what i would do with NCAA 14 on PS3. I would create my own players (most from central and and SFL), recruit them on my team and beat everyone mercilessly in dynasty mode. I would challenge myself to see how few opposing points i'd allow. My record for fewest points allowed in a season was 20 (only 2 tds given up). I'd regularly have offenses with 3x 1,000 yard receivers, 2x 1,000+ yard running backs, my QBs would throw for 5500+ yards and run for over another 1,000. Multiple DBs would have 8 or more INTs, DL would get over 30 sacks individually per season. and I rearranged conferences to have the powerhouse schools all in one. Man I miss playing that game.

Since Miami was mediocre in real life, it was fun to run over opponents in the video game. Plus, i would usually play while high and/or tipsy, so it was my unplug/zone out game.

I'm going to hire Dan Mullen as OC, put his wife in the recruiting department, and run Jacurri Brown through people all the time. Natty in 3 years.

I'm happy about this game because playing FIFA with Juventus and smashing all the opponents helped me cope with the fact that they suck in real life.

I'm going to do the same with Miami.

It might finally be our year

EA KILLED THE SIMS.

THE SIMS!!!!
How TF do you kill THE Sims/Sim City franchise?
Oh, EA. That's how.
Honestly, the gameplay has declined over the last 15 years or so for all games, IMO. I think the need to add features to sell the next version is a big factor. They don't really care because they still sell.

ESPN NFL 2K5 was one of the best football games ever made. EA got the stupid NFL to give them exclusive rights to its videogames and as a result Madden went to sh*t after that because EA had no competition.

They don't just have an exclusive deal with the NFL and NFLPA to make sim football games, they also have an exclusive deal with the Collegiate Licensing Co.

For college football video games, it's EA or no one (I'm not 100% if the deal with the CLC also covers college hoops. I think it does, though).

989 Sports used to have a cfb game, 2k even made one (granted, it was ****e). Those games weren't particularly memorable. However, they were, at least, alternatives....

From afar, that seems like a broader issue in gaming. The industry seems stale. The technology is amazing. But, the games, sports games particularly, are stuck in the mud.

Anyone remember Madden 96? I believe that was one of the first where you could create players and actually would have to train them to get their numbers up. If I remember correctly, I had dudes that were around 7 feet tall, 400 pounds, and running a sub 4.0 40. There was a way to cheat to get their 40 times that low. I think by doing two at a time?? Whatever it was, it was completely unfair.

I have kids now and I don't play anymore, but I really enjoyed being around during the early years and watching it progress. To be honest, I lost interest when so much emphasis was put on graphics, I liked the stats and team building way more than the graphics.

I remember that one. Might be the best madden. I remember I had a friend do the 40 because he’d get me 4.2 so I could have that 99 speed.

Kids have no idea having madden and Pat Summerall call the games.

There’s no reason in 2022 that we don’t have a full football simulation with comprehensive team building.

Sounds like you might enjoy just simming games and recruiting.

I've been watching some Madden sims on youtube in anticipation of the new college game.
