NC State v. Clemson

They beat James Madison University 24-14. Take it for what it's worth.
James Madison would probably whoop teams like Nebraska and could probably walk into some G5 conferences and be their conference champ.

I don’t agree with that.
If we win out, and that includes winning the ACCCG. We will go to the CFBP with 1 losing coming to a team that will finish 8-4/9-3(LSU).

Now of course if Clemson loses 5 games and we beat them in the ACCCG then that won’t help but I don’t expect Clemson to bottom out like that. Worst case they lose maybe 2 with the freshman but that’s absolute worst case. Now if we lose 2 games but still win the ACC then we probably won’t get in but if we win out it will be hard to keep us out. JMO. Obviously way ahead of myself and irrelevant to talk about now. A lot will happen before we get to that discussion.

All hypothetical but heres the situation as I see it. ND wins out they are in, steal a conference champs spot. Bama and UGA are both undefeated (Bama looks like they can easily accomplish that, UGA's last stumbling block is this weekend) and both 1 are 2 when they face off in ATL. Say the game mirrors another score and game like the title game, don't be surprised the SEC gets 2. That leaves 1 spot. Ohio State definitely has the inside track here even if they lose 1 game and win the Big Ten, they would get the nod over us, unless Clemson is undefeated and we beat them and LSU only loses 2 more games. We need LSU and Clemson to keep winning.

Again Hypothetical, but if it shakes out like that I don't see the ACC getting a spot.

Lots will happen by then. Notre Dames schedule is not a foregone conclusion like everyone thinks it is.

If we run it, after VaTech we should be top 5 and all we need to do is handle business against Pitt and the ACCCG. I could see us sneaking in at #4.

I’m unsure if you’ve been reading the National CFP conversation but the narrative is “if the northern Indiana team wins out, they will be the de facto ACC representative”.

Bottom line: Even if NC State shocks Clemson and wins the ACC, it wouldn't be a lock.

All 4 ESPN analysts pick either Clemson or the northern Indiana ACC interloper

I hear you
Well, let’s hope ND doesn’t win out and let’s take care of our business. All we can do.

Uga has lsu, kentucky, florida, and Auburn coming up. Unlikely they go through that unscatched. The only way the SEC gets 2 is if UGA ans Bama both go undefeated, and there’s a close game in the SECCG(a la 2012) or there’s a situation where the next conference champs have two losses

Need ND to lose more than anything.
