First I want to say I don't think this game does absolutely anything for Manny. His fate is signed, sealed, and delivered. The pink slip just hasn't gone public. This W is all about the kids.

TVD - Talked his **** and backed it up. The more snaps he gets, the better the kid gets.
25/33 325 with 4TD and no INT. A+ for the kid.

OL - Looked much much better when we went more air-raid, the pass rush also slows down a bit when you're trying to tackle a 6'4 225 QB. It's clear they looked more comfortable out there. For some reason, the RPO and inside zone runs still don't work, but I am sure Lashlee has his reasons to do the same stupid *** **** over and over again...
OL - Grade A from me. The best they've looked in a long time.

Knighton - Kid has got the goods. He also picked up some blitzes the D threw at him perfectly which was something he needed to work on. If only we had an OC that could find a way to get him in space more, I would plan our O more around him.
Knighton - Grade A

WR/TE - No dropped passes I can recall. Restrepo almost had a tough catch down the middle that dropped, and Mallory can't block for **** but he did get a TD and seal the game with that last catch. Rambo continues to be our best guy and is improving his draft grade.
WR/TE - B+

Lashlee - F HIm

Defensively it's a C.

I don't want to get into talking ish because we finally got a W, but it's the same kids struggling.

Shout out to the young bucks shining. J. Williams is a true leader like TVD and the next coach will have two ALPHAS to work with there. Kinchens doesn't cover grass like the other safeties and made the game-winning tackle. Kinchens reminds me of one of my favorite canes in Jaquan Johnson. He is already ahead of his age and will continue to get better with more snaps.

Special Teams - I grade a Z (Not including Borregales and Hedley) It's the most ineffective return game I have ever seen at Miami. Every return man we put out there fumbles the **** ball. It's a direct reflection of Patke garbage *** and coaching.

Manny Diaz - Grade - F him

Again, I don't think this does anything for Manny, but it helps the confidence of our young players tremendously. Hopefully, recruits see that with a competent coaching staff this team can really make some noise and consider us come February. The next coaching staff has some good young players to work with.

unsure what was more shocking. Diaz gifting nc st points to end the half, Mallory finally showing up or winning a p5 game

We have material for a coach to work with. Its not a talentless team. Its a dumb undisciplined poorly coached team but its not talentless.

Its been the most obvious, uncorrected, running flaw in this team since he got here. I absolutely hate Patke as ST coach.

Happy for the win. I only saw the last 54 seconds of 1st half and the second half. TVD appeared accurate, but needs to increase his pocket awareness. What bothers me is the play calling. Where is the Miami speed to the outside? The running plays are designed for a hole between the tackles, which I doubt that Miami's OL can create on a regular basis. Is there no plan to get the RBs into an open area outside the tackles?

The cautious play calling is frustrating. In the 4th quarter and pinned within its 10-yard line, Miami ran without success and had to punt. I just know that an opponent in the same situation would have thrown for a 1st down. The offensive play calling seems as if the coaches don't really believe in the players.

The no-huddle is laughable. Run to the line, and then look confused for the remaining 30 seconds before snapping the ball. Not going to surprise defenses with that strategy.

The end of the 1st half timeout drew derision from the narrators, as it should have. How do you allow a TD with only 54 seconds left and the opponent starting on the 25-yard line?

Really, the coaches did everything possible to let NCST get a late field goad to win the game.

What's with the poor special teams play on punt receiving? Thankfully, a missing helmet bailed UM out on one occasion.

And then there is the officiating. Running into the kicker to bail out NCST on the missed field goal. In soccer, the kicker would be penalized for a flop.

There is talent on the team. But, the coaching lacks imagination and inspiration. So sad!
