I’m excited to see what they’ll do. The thing is, they can play both style but at different times of the game. Come out fast, score fast, take the big lead and just play smash mouth football in the 4th quarter.
 
We score 28 we win. We score 35+ we cover. NC State will likely score between 17-24 pts. We have not given up more than 24 in regulation all year

I gotta be honest. I’m not sure smash mouth is this years identity. That approach is exactly what we did with Notre Dame and FSU and it almost came back to bite us at the end.

I like for us to run when we got a big lead, but no reason we can’t keep running it out of spread formations which ensures you don’t get a lot of guys in the box. Run A gap, but at least force the defense to play it honest.

We're gonna have CJ Bailey looking like Vince Young lol. But seriously, we're going to get his best game and NC State's best game. If we play clean which is a big if, we should cruise but this team hasn't played clean in a month so thinking 33-24 and our fans wanting CJ Bailey in the portal for 2026.

It also seems like this staff doesn't trust Beck like they did with Cam. Beck was a huge downgrade from Cam. I think we overrated Beck in what his ability was as a QB. Hence why we paid him so much money.

According to the Herald, Daniels is going to be ready (per Mario) but Fletcher will be out.
 
NC State does literally nothing exceptionally well on defense. Honestly not one single thing.

This might be the worst defense we've faced, and yes that includes Cuse and Stanford.

They are 100th in pressure rate
They are 126th in missed tackle rate
They are 107th in yards after contact
They are 81st in yards allowed after the catch
They are 126th in defensive YPP allowed
They are 83rd in yards per carry allowed
They are 116th in yards per pass allowed
They are 119th in scoring defense
They are 112th in sacks per game

I can go on and on. I really think this could be the worst defense we've played the entire season except for Bethune.

If we don't score 35+ on Saturday, it's going to be probably the most disappointing game of the season, in my eyes. As pathetic as Louisville and SMU were, those defenses are competent in some areas. Louisville has a pretty good defense overall, SMU has a very good DL and have done a very good job up front all season.

NC State is just terrible at every single level. Even this braindead offensive operation should be able to play "Pin the Tail on the Playsheet" and score 35 points.

i knew exactly what beck was before he got here. his 2023 was a product of having two elite college players. 2024 and now 2025 is basically who he is.
