Most people who come to this site are pretty hard core into recruiting. So not a ton of new info, but it really punches you in the face how bad Richt's classes were (for a variety of reasons).

A lot of TBD for the 2018 class, but even there we already have 35% of the class leave the program.

Bust rate. But leaving the program is a whole other story.
It is, but you also need to look at who left. Our 3 lowest rated recruits left. I am unsure if you can even call them busts if they never really do anything as they were rated so low. One being Realus who obviously needed to find a team with a FB. The ones who left that may or may not be busts: Lingard, Hightower, Ezzard, Jarren Williams. The rest of the class I think was very good.

Jordan Miller (top 2 DT); Pat Joyner (MIA since injury); Rousseau (NFL); Campbell (Starting LT); Dee Wiggins (Starting WR); Ivey (Starting CB); C. Reed (TBD); Mallory (top 2 TE); Frierson (Starting Striker); Hall (Starting S); Harris (Starting RB); Scaife (Starting RG) Blades (Starting CB); Pope (Starting WR or at worst in 2 deep); Silvera (Starting DT); Brevin (Starting TE)

So out of the 23 enrollees, 11 are starting, 3 ( Miller, pope and mallory) may very well be starting, if we had more classes like 2018 we would be a better football team

A class of:
- Jordan
- Rousseau
- Harris
- Blades
- Wiggins
- Scaife
- Campbell
- Frierson
- Hall
- Ivey
- Nesta
- Mallory
- Miller
- Reed

Is very good, those are some of our most impactful players. While not all of them are the superstars we thought they would be (yet) they are all important players and in our 2 deep. Who cares if the Ezzards, Bethels, and even Lingard left

Thats why you can't just focus on stars & recruiting rankings. Talent evaluations & development also matters just as much if not more.

Just cause guys leave doesn’t mean they are not talented. They may just not be a good fit for this team, problems with coaches or other players, hating the offensive or defensive schemes, players not getting PT, not because the guy in front is better.. there’s many reasons guys leave but not being good enough is definitely one of them lol

great comment on player development, we have been awful in this area for a long time. stars are getting more accurate as there is so much coverage and tape as well as camps..... its the 3* guys who turn it into 5* college players tat the talent eval. becomes important. B.Davis great recruiter but better evaluator

There are more spots on the team than available playing time. Its been the same forever. Learn from prior experience please.

Redshirt soph year is def a year to make an impact. So judging them prior to this season playing out is kind of pointless.

In saying that.. A bulk of those players listed haven't made any meaningful impact as of yet. Miller, Reed, Nesta, Ivey, Mallory & Wiggins have been hit or miss.

You also for sure need to care if you are getting zero contribution from your top RB, WR, QB's in a class.

2 things killed Richt's tenure as HC:

1. The worst QB room in Miami history
2. Nepotism and refusal to fire bad coaches across the offense, including himself as OC

Other than QB and a whole bunch of misses and poor player development at OL, I felt like Richt upgraded the program across the board vs Golden/Shannon/late Coker years.

Too bad Calvin got band (not really) because he would be in here calling all of y'all so called canes fans and bytches for daring to besmirch the name of pastor Richt! For the record I love Mark Richt.

Bad QB play soiled the end of his time at Georgia

1. Hiring is absurdly unqualified, moron son.

If Miami has ANYTHING resembling a QB in 2017, we're in the CFP and get there without all the close calls.
