Their fans (which are overwhelmingly alums) have the means and a greater proportion of our fans (most of whose didn’t attend UM and are closer to working class) do not, which is why you see so many of our fans saying they can’t afford the secondary market prices.

The IU fans aren’t going to be put off by the cost of travel/lodging and so forth. They’re going to turn out in droves.

Right now my personal expectation is 55-60% IU and 45-40% Miami fans depending on how the corporate allocations end up breaking down.

St. John's capitalized on last season's success by bumping prices for renewing STH. Miami just did the same, understandably so.

Truth is, I thought you had to buy tickets to every playoff game to qualify for tickets to the NC. That's why I didn't put in for tix to the NC.

All a moot point because things worked out perfectly for me, so I can't complain.

My guess is 75%/25% IU for reasons you mentioned. Large alumni base willing to spend whatever as a first time participant

There are way more season ticket holders than tickets available so it’s literally a gamble lottery ticket but likely your best shot. I think I’m going to roll that dice.

I was thinking about that but i live on the other side of the country so I'd probably go to 1 game. I guess i could get some money back on the rest of the games but who knows. May still go for it.

Yeah it’s hard to recoup any of the money for next seasons games for 1 upper deck ticket. You are essentially paying $420 to hopefully hit a lottery ticket to get a ticket chance for the championship game.

also one thing people forget - all the big ten schools have a lot of alums that moved for work and especially RETIRED to south Florida/Florida. Indiana is definitely up there

you definitely did not and it didnt at all indicate that in the inital email. i put in for 2 of the 4.

You received the e-mail on December 7th. Everyone who is a 2025 STA/2026 HC member did. I did. Thousands of people did.

I think that’s on the extreme end given we are going to use 100% of our own allocation (20,000+ tickets) so we’re guaranteed at least a third or so of the crowd just from that. HRS has a capacity of roughly 65k. That means that If you break down the remaining corporate/secondary market at an assumed 75/25 split in favor of IU (and I think that might be high), it still puts us at a little north of 40% of the crowd. Hopefully we can push for a little better than that.

If you don't commit to Hurricane Club and/or season tickets, then you MIGHT have to pay through the nose when we make the national championship game AT HOME.

That's the gamble people make.

Agree I have been lowed ball like no other here. Like man this isn’t a charity. I’m not happy my wife doesn’t want to go but I’m making profit on it.

They didn't.

People have had MONTHS to buy the Orange Bowl-National Championship ticket package.

Corporate partners get SOME of the allotment, but most of the non-UM/non-IU tickets were sold to locals. This happens with EVERY bowl game, it is nothing new or unusual.

This must be what it’s like to win the lottery. People coming out of the woodwork asking for tix. Normally I listen and hook people up. This time, I simply laugh.. it’s not my job to source tickets (ie: pay attention for emails and actually request the tix ahead of time when the emails came out). Feels good to be sitting on 4 without a care in the world and only $2600 all in for them.

I've made thousands of dollars of donations since the 1990s, I've lost money on tickets in the years before "the secondary market", and now I should offer someone "face value" for the most in-demand single game in decades just because they wanted to live that "StubHub Life", yo?
