Nate Webster layeth the smacketh down.....

Ok you like Nate, really good player. Micheal Barrow and Ray Lewis were at another level. If you want to compare the three, your guy is a distant third.
Ask his teammate @dsddcane bout Nate...only a Moron would say Nate was a distant 3rd to Barrow....Pound for Pound...Nate hit harder than any LBer that played at UM...Including Rohan...Nate was 6'0 235lbs...and hit you like he was 6'3 260lbs...Ask Edge and James Jackson about Nate...they'll be more than Happy to tell you...I know what I saw with my own eyes....Nates Hits in practice, could be heard from one end of Greentree to the other...

Micheal Barrow was The defensive player of the year In the Big East, AA and 13 year NFL career including leading the NFC in tackles. Nate made all conference, did ok in the league and those are the facts. I don’t need to ask anyone my cugina was Micheal’s teammate for 5 years. There is a difference between guys that are big hitters and guys that are great players, ask your guys. I know a few teammates pretty well that call 56 a great player and real leader.

In 22 starts at UM....Nate had 301 tackles...14 TFL...and 7 Sacks....Absolutely Ridiculous....Romberg said Quote.."Nate is an Insane Human Being"...I honestly don't think people realize how Crazy and Bad *** Nate was....And was like that in HS as well....Not one UM player on his teams would try him....

I agree that Dan, Ray, and Barrow We’re a level above, but I wouldn’t say any other guys were clearly better at the MLB spot. I’d say Vilma, Nate, Brophy, Clark, and Mira are pretty close in the next tier.
My other guys would be Tiger and Vilma, probably debatable. The other 3 in their own class. Micheal’s hit on Richie Anderson at Happy Valley in 92 on 4th and goal was one of the best defensive plays I’ve seen in person in a big situation. Game saver.

Without reading all this it depends how you're talking about the three. If you mean overall obviously ray is #1 I'd say both y'all trippin to say anyone other than ray in front of dan for the second spot. #3 #4 #5 could go in any order from Nate to mike to jv. Just outside of that circle is Jesse. But sticking with just Nate or Mike. Nate is far more physical and a complete savage against the run and underneath. Mike was far better in coverage and was still more than capable underneath. John was a blend of both but nowhere near as physical as either.

While we’re on the subject, some of you historians help me out here. In the ‘89 loss to FSU when Gino started in place of an injured Erickson, I remember a particular hit by Bernard Clark. I think it was 3rd and goal and just as the FSU RB was about to cross the goal line Clark drilled him and turned him back. The officials signaled TD before the hit even happened because it looked like he would easily get in. There was no instant replay back then, so the call stood. Could’ve changed the outcome of the game if called correctly.

Anybody else remember that?

My top 3 are in the middle areRay, Dan and Micheal and the next group would be Vilma, Tiger and Webster. Agree on the run stopping but overall LB play Barrow and several of his teammates agree. I like Tiger. dude played big in big games. HC at Robert Morris in Pittsburgh, recruits the Ytown area pretty strongly.

Yes. That sequence was the game.
We fumble going in at the one.
They go 99 yards the other way and score on that questionable play (1:54:00).

Before our fumble, McGuire was IN (1:42:56) but the refs didn't count it.
Us up 17-14 turns into us being down 21-10.
Game over.

Thanks for confirming. I forgot all about the McGuire play.

@dsddcane...I know Morgan is #1...but to say Nate was a distant whatever behind Barrow is Ludicrous....

I'd take any one of those five right now. Hey, I'd take whomever is number six.

Nate used to put people asleep via chokehold for fun in the locker room. Buddy had a few bolts loose but he was a badass. They didn’t call him Nasty Nate for nothing
