Nascar Package Upside

Our team is designed to score, and score fast. If we have a lead, and teams get one dimensional throwing the ball, imagine a defensive unit like I listed below. The upside we have in passing downs is off the charts. Obviously the ceiling is lower here, but if this thing starts clicking, teams will not be able to throw the ball. I expect coverage sacks.

The logic is use our older, less mobile LBers on early downs or early in game to shut the run down. Use X and damari similarly (they are bigger, and sturdier against the run). Same with Omar Thornton. Then on passing downs, or even passing drives, line up this:

I can't imagine teams being able to throw against this unit IF this unit knows they won't run the ball.

LB Wiley
LB - Pruitt

CB1 - Antoine (obviously this would be OJ and Antoine #2. Assuming Antoine injury isn't too bad)
CB2 - Oconnor

Yeah I expect that against lesser talent in acc competition. One of the reasons why the BIG would suit us well. All those coaches have ego and would play straight up football against us and get their asses beat.

Only in the ACC do we go against offensive masterminds week in and week out lmao

Teams that try to emulate Louisville's 2025 game plan (on either side) will lose badly. This staff adjusts very well from one game to the next (and from one season to the next at an elite level). The next loss the Canes pick up (inshallah, never) will happen for some totally new reason.

That may be true, but I’m specifically referencing the 3rd and medium to long aspect of that gameplan. Like I said, it was done effectively just this past Friday.
 
That seems like a regular nickel package. We got 2 DTs in there and 2 LBs.

Think the reference was to the personnel grouping for the DL. When one of our DEs slide inside for pass rush emphasis. Like Blount.
