talked about all the different ways Toney is used, best front 4, beat ND, blah blah blah. Their kicker will miss his 3rd straight game and kickoff specialist will step in again (missed 2 field goals against GT).

It’s Senior Day at Pitt...students are on Thanksgiving break but they still expect a near sellout for the game.

Our front (4) has been average in my eyes, best I feel means constant focus mauling which has been below average.
Mainly due to mental mistakes and lack of focus when we do we are a formidable front .

I feel we get tired in 4th quarter and frustrated with hands on hips play.

We need ND , turds and fsu type OLINE play to beat PITT . Up tempo mauling required here NO MORE THREE AND OUT OLINE PLAY, tired of it , our D will feed of of it in a blitz happy attack rampage.

If we three and out on first series POP TART will set in sadly this scares me very much.

We need to blow out PITT anything less we’ll drop in polls to a breakfast bowl

-We need a great mix of power and creativity. -Build upon toney/pringle versatility
- trust the FR TE’s and sprinkle them in
- build upon loftons last game. Get him going early

You do the above and then the normal power run and other WR’s reps will succeed.

- ohh and we must win in a 52-10 type fashion.

I think we are bit fatigued down the stretch here. How else do you explain mauling Notre dame and Florida but not the ACC

Freshman tight ends who haven’t played all year? And you wanna throw them out vs a good Pitt defense on the road? Lol

I fully expect to see another wacky bag of tricks from Dawson and the offense. Because, well, it’s working. For three straight weeks we’ve seen new formations with new plays and different motion combinations. Every week I laugh harder and harder at that nerd who signed up for CIS just to argue with every poster about how we only ran a handful of plays because those were the only plays we knew how to run.

We’re up against another NC State type of team. One that looks good against bad teams but terrible against decent ones. They have one win against a bowl eligible opponent and it was last week against the most overrated team in the P5, Georgia Tech. Their quarterback can simultaneously look awesome and terrible at the same time. He’s a gunslinger who’s turnover prone and can be baited into interceptions like Bailey at NCSU. They don’t run the ball well so if we can rattle the QB, we should be sitting pretty.

Defensively they’re statistically solid but similar to the offense, they look incredible against weaker teams and have struggled against the better offenses on their schedule. They nearly pulled a Guidry last week. After jumping out to a 28-0 lead they allowed Georgia Tech to get back to 35-28 before icing the game with a long touchdown run late in the fourth quarter.

The game is at Pitt and Miami strangely has had a lot of success there despite playing in quite a few late season, cold weather games. Notre Dame handled them fairly easily in their house and if anyone is used to playing in a half-full pro stadium, it’s our guys.

Comfortable win but not a blowout 31-17.

If you honestly think 1 potential 3 & out will make the team crumble then good God bro, these kids are just a bit more resilient than that.

Pitt for sure is one of tbose Dr. Jekyll or Hyde type teams. They can hurt us if we arent locked in, but ultimately the real opponent here is ourselves.

Will be happy with a 1 score win.

You all looking for style points are going to be disappointed. Few reasons why this is going to be much closer than Pitt vs. Notre Dame.

Pitt is playing for an ACC title. Their own coach has laid it out. They could lose by 100 to ND they are focused on ACC teams. Guarantee Miami gets a better effort from Pitt than ND got.

Another reason @Lance Roffers has discussed this over and again, type ot coverage Pitt plays is what Beck struggles with the most. They force lots of turnovers, and Beck can force stuff and put ball in harms way.

Another reason is 7 straight game the defense looking little fatigued. Hetherman said its our worst tackling game of season, and Lville was awful so not great.

Injuries have really hit this team on defense.

Agianst VT you basically had:

Blay-Best run DT
Scott-Beat nickel in America
Thomas-All ACC type safety
OJ-starting CB

All out. 4 starters. Hopefully 3 of then return vs. Pittsburgh we need them.

Lastly the weather. Cold effects passing game more than anything, and we need to be able to pass as Pitt is not going to let you do buisness running on them all game.

You set the tone in first series, you practice 20 plays or so constantly over and over and break them done in film study over multiple defenses.
To open the first series with motion penalties, out of position penalties , holding calls and so on speaks loads.
YES you would think being resilient would be the case but we have seen differently from October on a real mystery.

Teams now fake blitz is to jump plus throw sucker punches so referees will see our retaliation.

Bottom line FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS.

run it cram it shove it down there throats!!!

Aldo remember PITT home field advantage refs CFP wants us to lose or win by one point.

So I say don’t put the game in the hands of the refs WE EILL LOSE FOR SURE.

In the days of rings we had games of 200 plus yards in penalties but said F them we just kept scoring 250 yards rushing and 350 passing we never wanted or cared for punting it was OFFENSIVE to us .

John Madden:

Was asked why isn Ray Guy on your All Pro team ?

Look around you at these guys WE DONT PUNT !

First series to low focus kids is everything yo there mindset unless the Malik type guys lift them up and lead them.

All I spoken here is proven and shown before us before!

Winn by 3-4 TD and we have a chance in CFP anything less POP TARTS

The trick plays have been fun to watch. I think, more important has been the variations of the plays we run. Over the last couple weeks, we have come out in different formations and personnel, things that the opposing team has not seen on film over and over the first half of the season.

I hear you, but if we just run it cram it shove it down their throats we will only have a total of 7 possessions and we won't get an impressive win. I think we need more 4 wide, spread it out forcing a light box. Then gash them with Pringle. That said, I love your enthusiasm. Go Canes
