He’s their #1 because nobody else above him was interested. Mario said no. Lane said no. Bob Stoops said no.

If Mario and Lane say no to us it’ll be the same story. Except it’ll be Mark Stoops and not Napier, for us.

Pete Carrol was USC’s third or fourth choice. Butch Davis was in the same boat. I’d rather have divine intervention than a coach that every canes fan wanted
 
If I was a gator fan you’d have a hard time convincing me that Billy Napier is the guy that’s gonna lead us past Kirby Smart in the East.

Probably overall a better program guy than Mullen because he’ll recruit better. But not nearly the schematic guy Mullen was unless he hires something different at OC.

I just think his success at UL is a mirage. Dig deeper into his record and you will see that his teams play to the level of their opponents. He has a lot of 7 point or less wins against teams with losing records. How long are Gator fans going to put up with goal line stands against Vanderbilt?

I'm not sure what about Napier has them so excited.
 
If Napier goes to UF and LSU strikes out on Riley and Aranda - then it's possible they're ****ed even more than us.

They’ll go after Stoops. The 3 finalists for the LSU job is Riley, Napier, and Stoops. Aranda hasn’t even had talks with them.
 
Napier strikes me as a guy who checks all the boxes but for whatever reason just can’t translate it to big time P5 football. If you’re a UF, you want to see more of a P5 resume. Plucking a G5 guy is a major risk.

When was the last time a G5 guy did a successful move to major P5 football?
