Napier to Florida

He took a safety, up 5 with 1:51 left? I know he won but that is an incredible corching job. Especially when you consider the fact that teams generally get good field position after a
Safety punt/kickoff.

It's very strange.

Concerned with ball being snapped over punter's head? Sure, just take a voluntary safety.

Concerned with "only" being up by 5 with 2 minutes to go? Sure, just cut the lead to 3 with (essentially) the same amount of time left.

Makes no sense at all.

That’s a interesting move for them tbh..if true. Ion know bruh going through his resume..a lot of pit stops. Was fired at Clemson as the OC/QB coach in 10/11..Saban wanted him 2x which says he’s a asset on a championship staff..ASU I guess he did pretty well..he’s killed it at Louisiana, I’ll give him props for that…but it’s a different animal in the sec on all fronts..like I said interesting if true. I hope we don’t go a similar route tho..get a proven Guy just like we did in 15 (timing was just off with MR)
It's the same with all of these G5 HCs.

You just never know how it's going to translate to the P5. He's an interesting candidate for sure - deserves a shot somewhere, albeit apparently he's turned down a few P5 roles already.

He’s a guy whose been around P5 stops so I’m pretty sure he’s got his eyes set on the right situation..rightfully so he won’t just take any job. Like you said tho, u never know about these g5 guys

Yeah, I was watching that game live and couldn't believe he did that. Worst coaching move I think I've ever seen. He was lucky to get out of their with the W.

They've sucked at getting their guy, is my point. There is virtually nothing I take away from anything they do as a roadmap to success. The Urban years are sandwiched between ****heaping mountains, but they somehow convince a lot of the world that they are the standard and that Mustchimp, Sharkhumper and the Cuckold are the exception.

SEC biased.

I tried to explain this to my boys.

When I saw ESPN tried to say “Florida is a tier 1” job.

When its fact their facilalites and spending isn’t on par with Bama, UGA, Clemson, LSU? OSU, Texas.

And as you’ve mentioned.

It’s never been a destination coaching spot.

And their hires haven’t really be awe-inspiring splash hires.

Now it appears they are going the McEwain route hiring a g5 coach who spent time with Saban.

Napier seems like an interesting hire as he is demanding the school allow him to have a support staff as big as Bama and he doesn’t want any built in disadvantages.

But he’s also demanding that he run his program his way with no meddling.

Which simply isn’t going to happen at a big time school and especially not when there is tape of your taking a safety up 5.

Wait so Florida fired and hired a coach in the same amount of time we’ve been promised an AD hire was imminent? 🙄 Amazing how good schools get **** done right away
Everyone complained when Manny was hired within 12 hours. Pick which one you want and don’t ever side with the **** gator.
