Nantambu Fentress

I suspect you'll see more Gunter at safety as we get back to playing teams that play spread and pass the ball.

Outside of him being a walk-on and disparaged for that reason, there's not much difference that I've seen between Fentress and Crawford. Carter is a better athlete but also hasnt done anything noteworthy.

True.. But that's the question... Is Fentress really outplaying them? If he is... then we have a problem. And by saying Crawford at the nickel I meant Antonio

No, but are they outplaying him? Nobody is doing anything so why single out Fentress? I think Bush and Gunter at least give you a bit more flexibility back there because they can cover. Crawford, Fentress, and Carter are all the same to me--they're the guy who helps make the tackle 10 yards down the field or misses it. They're the guy who's in the picture when somebody is catching a pass.

Outside of a few guys who flash occasionally, we've done a remarkable job of creating clones and they could play most anyone at this point and probably get the same mediocre results.

I think this is a psychological move by the D'Organizer to motivate the other guys. I've seen coaches do this often but never for the amount of snaps I see Fentress play, makes no sense at all, Fentress has yet to make a tackle or pass defense in over hundred snaps so there is no reason he should be on the field. Burns played safety his junior and senior years in Highschool, have no idea why they put him at corner other than his thin frame.

Walk-ons don't start for upper echelon football programs. They play on special teams if they are lucky. Could never imagine this happening at the Alabamas or FSUs of the world.
