He was thinking logically but the bag talks man, I would abandon all logic for a bigger bag. It’s always been this way

Money talks, but yeah not the best decision. Auburn gonna be in the toilet for some time, best of luck to the kid.

No way to prove it but Miami probably has one of the more expensive rosters in CFB. People need to readjust to what a winning program looks like. It used to be simple. Stack top 5 classes. Now it’s a complicated balance of recruiting, portal acquisitions, and roster retention.

I agree if its big enough.

Like IMO Auburn is giving him Fletcher current money, and Mario is not going to do that.

If we are offeriing 800K Auburn is offering xlose to double no RB coach is going to make a difference.

This is exactly the sort of recruitment Mario and the staff get paid to win. Nobody should expect them to win them all, but the equivocation about missing on "dozens and dozens" of kids is either disingenuous or raw copium. A staff that miss on dozens and dozens of top of the board recruits won't be a staff for long.

This kid is the goods, def a miss but its more his loss then it will be ours the way I see it.

Not a good comp. A lot of cignettis players came with him from JMU & basketball roster building isn’t close to the same as building a football roster.

Not arguably, IMO.

Matthews is a local kid at a much bigger position of need. He’s higher ranked. That’s a must-get. That would be a HUGE miss.

This kid is a miss. But it’s not on the same floor as Matthews. Maybe not even in the same building.

IMO you can’t lose out on Matthews or Lennear, those are the guys you have to be willing to overpay on.

Mario himself said we will be doing less and less portal, that he likes to build thru recruiting..

Noted …but you can pluck key players out of the portal for positions of need to get you over the top. Cignetti needed Mendoza and it won him a chip! I’m not over reacting over a running back. Does are dime a dozen.

Allocate those funds into the trenches!!
