loo
Lubbock man, Lubbock. It's more Oklahoma/New Mexico than Texas. Had no reputation as a football school before Leach.
That's where you lose all credibility. Spike Dykes took them to five bowls in seven years before Leach took over. PMiami's talente played a more difficult non-conference schedule than Leach. Don't comment on TT's history if you're just going to guess.
Haha, that's funny. Spike averaged 6 wins per year in his 13 years there, and after joining the big 12, he had two 6-6 seasons and two 7-5 seasons (a real juggernaut). Leach is a legend there (to everyone not named James), even compared to Spike. Further, Leach would've pasted 40+ on Patrino on Monday night with Miami's talent, and his D would've been vastly better than NoD's-- and that's not even debatable.
You know how a black belt has to warn the little punk in the bar who is picking the fight? That's what I've tried to do with you. I will stomp you on the Mike Leach debate, yet you keep coming back for more.
The first thing Mike Leach did when he got to Lubbock was to dumb down the OOC schedule. Spike Dykes played Arizona State, Tennessee, Georgia, Penn State, NC State, Oregon, Ohio State, Miami, Arizona, and Florida State. A typical Mike Leach OOC schedule: Eastern Washington, Nevada, SMU, UMass (2008), or SMU, UTEP, Rice, Northwestern State (2007).
Here's the formula that seems to evade you:
1. Take the team that Spike Dykes left (6-5)
2. Drop the tough OOC game and play Rice, add one win (7-4)
3. The NCAA adds a 12th game, which for Leach would be a Northwestern State or Indiana State (8-4)
And there you have it. Mike Leach's exact average record, 8-4. So the big leap he made in the season record was 1000% due to schedule manipulation.
Mike Leach's average Big 12 conference record: 4.7 - 3.3
Spike Dykes average Big 12 conference record: 4.75 - 3.25
So Leach absolutely held serve in the conference. No improvement whatsoever. Why do you think he's a legend? Because he put up 70 against Sam Houston State every September. That's the depth of your research.
"Leach would've pasted 40+ Monday night" and "his D would've been vastly better"......that's a good move on your part, since you fall on your face when we talk about facts. Stick to things that can't be proven, that way we can't point out that you're wrong on literally everything. But, of course, Mike Leach didn't put up 40 on Monday night because he can't get a job at any school that has any pride whatsoever. So you and the other Leach fans can talk about what he WOULD HAVE done while he's losing at home to Rutgers in a game that no one watched.
