My vid, pretty much what dmoney said

I agree bout the depth and I did this vid last night

You don't get a like for this, you get the full rep. We have Dalvin against FSU, and we win that game, 100%. The only part I disagree with is that you still need Xs and Os. It's not as important in CFB but you still need competent guys there. Jimbo is good at that, but not only that he is smart enough to hire the right guys. Look at the game against them, they adjusted, they denied what was there in the first half. Their guys adjusted and we didn't. That being said in the end it was Jalen Ramsey and more importantly Dalvin. The foundation starts with recruiting. Cause good Xs and Os gets you a Cutliffe coached Duke team with no talent. Elite recruiting with no Xs and Os gets you Auburn with Cam and Fairly under Chizik. Then you talk about Michael Jackson, like you said how are we going into Bama to grab DBs? Saban is first and foremost a DB coach and we are going to grab someone he could care less about in his own state? Not only that but DBs grow trees in SFLA, but wait it gets better, this year in SFLA is the best in over 10 years.

Lastly I'm a white guy that hates when people play the race card, but you gotta call it how it is. How is this guy still around? How can you justify to keep him around when the guy before was already fired at this point? Then you add the fact that Randy played here and coached here. How isn't this racist? The worst part is yet to come IMHO, this will just be more ammo for our opponents, and they are already loaded to begin with.

Wait... So the only thing Miami needed to beat FSU this year was Miami having Dalvin Cook at running back???

Of course, there is a minimum threshold of talent that a program must have to be able to win. No one is arguing that point. For example, FAMU could have the greatest Xs and Os coach in the world but that still would not be enough to overcome a talent disparity against a top 25 team.

The issue is that once you are at or surpass that minimum threshold, you have to good coaching to win. Miami is well past this threshold. Talent is not why this years Miami's football team is losing. Miami has more than enough talent to beat every team on the schedule. Sadly, Miami only has enough coaching to win 6 games. You could give Golden 10 Dalvin Cooks and 10 Jalen Ramseys and he would still lose 3-4 games.

There is more to the problem than just missing on Cook, but if we land Cook we beat them this year. The statement is in response to all of those that use the mantra that 'one player doesn't change a team'. That mantra is also funny because when speaking about FSU, those same will then in turn use that mantra and say FSU would suck if it wasn't for one player in Winston. I have been very open in criticism of the staff from an Xs and Os aspect but the foundation ultimately is recruiting. It is why we were able to win a ship under Larry Coker because that team did have 10 Jalen Ramseys and 10 Dalvin's Cooks. Like my example with Chizik and Cutliffe, elite talent can cover up bad coaching and take you to the elite level. Finally read my post, the one thing I disagreed with the OP was that Xs and Os do matter even though they are not as important as the players at this level.

We win with cook period, when duke goes out cook takes over. Fsu never gets the ball back we eat clock.

Cook doesn't get tripped up on that draw play that Yearby did late in the game for sure. There were a couple times where Yearby found the crease but was taken down by an arm tackle. Dalvin would not have been tackled there. Also FSU is completely one dimensional without Cook....

Exactly and people don't want to believe this. There blind, one guy like a Clowney can make a coach look good or a Sean Taylor can make your whole secondary better. Celine sfla kids are going to Fsu, those big time players making big time plays in big games are at Fsu.

It is crazy how Scars best run in program history happened when Clowney went there.......
Then he leaves....

I don't disagree with recruiting being a problem against FSU, but that argument doesn't hold up against UVA. The coaching staff is reason #1 why this team sucks. Golden routinely loses to teams with worse players and cannot develop the players that he does manage to get. How often do we see talented players regress on his watch?

Fair enough but if I'm not mistaken they recruited a great DLiNE, I'm not 100 percent sure though.

I'm not blind to anything. I see it clearly, FSU's coaches made adjustments at halftime and Miami's didn't. That is why FSU won. FSU's coaches put their players in position to succeed in the second half. What makes you think Miami's coaches would even use Cook correctly if they had him??? This staff has mismanaged so many players and with him it would be no different. That is why it would not have mattered one bit if Miami had Cook.

FSU's defense put the clamps down in the second half and their offense was an entirely different animal in the second half. Go back and watch the second half or go look at a play by play/drive chart. For as great as people are trying to pump up Cook, and he had a great game, Winston and the receivers were 100 times better in the second half.

You bringing up Clowney perfectly illustrates my point. I think we can all agree Clowney was a once in a generation type talent. Of course he could make a coach look good. But is that how you want to run your program, hoping you can recruit the next Clowney? Odds are you'll never get close to a player like him and then what? You'll be 6-6. I'd rather have a coach that could take a group of lesser players and win it all then relying on finding the next Clowney, or Cam Newton, or Sean Taylor.

Coaching is just as important as recruiting.

Agreed. Video gave me a kick haha.

Thanks dog

I feel you man, I was in the stands screaming my *** off man at the FSU game. My Canes blew it.

All you could hear after the game was me *****ing how pathetic the coaching was and how kids who should have came to the U beat us while other Miami fans were dejected and quiet, I was ****ed. Had FSU fans behind me and next to our seats with a smug face when they came back. I actually congratulated them, we threw that game away and they agreed.

One of my boys came all the way from Puerto Rico to see the game. I felt bad for him, came down just for the game. Die hard dude.

Coaching sucks but the fact we allow those guys to get away is killing us man.

I'll say though, not all FSU fans are douchebags though. Some guy was talking with me in the parking lot and said if we actually got a Real coach we could contend and all I could do was shake my head and say "I know man, I know"

It's pathetic.

I know, was very disappointing.

And yeah, missing out on Cook gonna kill us. Rudolph gonna be a good one. Lane despite the drop, he was killing our DBs for a big kid he can move.

And yeah he was ****ed man, and the rumor about Golden and Coley arguing on the sideline is true. Saw it with my own eyes.

And GhostOfTruth. I'm not gonna knock Yearby at all. I think Yearby will be great. But I'm going to be very real here. Going into that game I thought they were neck and neck. Cook is better, theirs nothing wrong with that man. Pains me to say it.

Cook has a higher ceiling than Duke cause of his size. He's not better than Duke YET. If Cook reaches his potential, oh boy. The things that kid did, haven't seen **** like that since Bobby Washington at Killian.

Only kid I can see match up with Cook and his size, speed and athleticism. Scarlett, we need to hold on to him!

IF we let Scarletr get away. Get ready for Cook and Scarlett to push our **** in. I'll repeat, cannot let Scarlett get away.

I know JJ said is was about the players not the X's and O's but it was once said about Bear by his biggest rival, that "he can take his-ins and beat your-ins: and then he can take our-ins and beat his-ins" Not to mention that Howard was emphatic that all Miami EVER needed was better coaching. News flash, JJ was lying throuh his teeth. He had the best team ever, until the 2001 team, and got his *** out-coached two years in a row. Once by Johnie Majors and once by Joe Pa. It was in JJ's best interest to say it was about the players but that was bull. Coker had almost as good a team and got out coached by a frigging vest. It is all about the coaching. Jimbo would have beat the crap out of his players with our players. I love JJ but he cost us 2 NCs because he was still learning how to coach a frigging bowl game and got beat by vastly inferior teams. Funny thing is he got beat by a defense similar to Al's stupid *** soft passive defense both times. JJ was learning on the job. The problem with Al is he has not learned a frgging thing.

Larry Coker won a title that's all that has to be said, I think it's more about recruiting and X's And O's r secondary.

Agree, we had the better jimmies and Joes in 4 of our losses. You can't just ignore the xs and os when you go up against the top 25 teams in the land. Guess what they have jimmies and Joes as well.

That's the meme on this board that Coker wasn't a decent coach and anyone could have coached that team to a NC. BS I've seen some loaded teams with better talent get beat by a better xs and os coach. Look no further than what Boise State did.
