My updated Depth Chart with new signed players - give input

Great job, El. Very helpful.

You've got Gus as our 4th option at RB. Wouldn't shock me if he moves to number 1 or 2. Similarly, I think Milo gets a shot at RT to compete with Sunny. We need help at OT.

The OL is a mess.

Outside of Linder and Isidora, I don't feel confident in anyone based off their play last year.
Bar and tyree didn't play last year. Darling might be kicked inside if Bar put on a lot more muscle. He was easily our most naturally talented lineman. Don't be surprised if Bar is the LT(not RT) and Isidora is kicked inside to help the run game with tyree being the 6th lineman because he can play Tackle and guard and won't lose skill or athletism if he's put in due to fatigue or injury

Looks like it, which means 2017 will have to carefully evaluated and locked down early so we can avoid the 2016 shenanigans that went on!

Here is my pre-spring depth chart and analysis. Open to criticism and input. Also, let me know if it is accurate

QB - Kaaya, Rosier, Sheriffs, Testaverde, Allison

HB - Yearby, Walton, Gray, Edwards, Homer

FB - Tucker, Batten

WR - Coley, Cager, Bruce, Richards, Berrios, Lewis, Langham, Mullins

TE - Njoku, Dobard, Herndon, Washington, Irvin, Haskins

T - Darling, Odogwu, St. Louis, Jones, Loftus, Grimsley, Johnson

G - McDermott, Isadora, Gall, Milo, Gauthier, Mahoney

C - Linder, Knighton

DE - Thomas, Muhammed, Harris, D. Jackson, Smith, McIntosh, Patchan, Bethel, J. Jackson

DT - Jenkins, Norton, Willis, Moten, Fines, Martin

OLB - Grace, Owens, Gayot, King, McCray, Gordinier, McCloud, Pinckney

MLB - Young, Perry, Quarterman

CB - Elder, Redwine, Henley, Jackson, Mayes, Young

S - Carter, Johnson, Jenkins, Knowles, Finley, James, Wright

K - Badgley, Semerine

P - Vogel

That's puts us at 83 total scholarships, so we got room to add more

Analysis -

QB - we are set

HB - we are set

FB - we are set

WR - we are OK, Cager needs to emerge as the big WR

TE - we are set

T - a disaster. they all suck and we should of went JUCO. unless the fat boys get in shape and actually develop

G - see above

C - Linder, he is decent

DE - by far the strength of the team. best group in the nation if coach kool lives up to his billing

DT - solid first team, but need depth. this position should be primary focus of recruiting

OLB - solid group if new signees live up the hype or if the current JAGs actually develop

MLB - OK for now, Shaq will lock this spot down eventually

CB - Elder is good, rest are question marks

S - solid group, lots of depth

All in all, if we get better pants that don't sag and they wear them tight and above the knees, I see this team winning the coastal.

QB-same

RB-Edwards #1 (Richt likes big & fast)

FB-Batton, Tucker (Batton got more playing time last year-I think they move Tucker), Lawler (preferred walk-on)

WR-Coley, Bruce, Richards, Berrios, Mullins, Cager, Lewis, Langham (other than being tall, I have seen nothing special about Cager-he struggles to get separation and his YAC is miniscule)

TE-Njoku, Herndon, Dobard, Washington, Irvin, Haskins-Herndon's run blocking improved a lot last year-Dobard has been a lousy blocker for two seasons, he could get past by Washington-I think Irvin will be a pleasant surprise, but not in 2016-I am not excited about Haskins.

OT-St Louis, Darling, Jones, J., Johnson, T.-I like St Louis, I think he is a natural at pass blocking, needs work at pass blocking-Darling had a terrible year pass blocking, seems better suited at OG.

OT- McDermott, Odogwu, Johnson, T-McDermott struggled early, but made some improvement late-Odogwu was a terrible pass blocker, but he was or best run blocker, if he keeps improving at the rate he did last year, he could easily be a starter-I think Johnson, T. is a reach, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets moved to DT at some point.

OG-Milo, Gauthier, Grimsley-Milo=road grader-Gauthier was impressive in limited action.

OG-Isidora, Gall, Mahoney-Isidora never returned to his form from the first half of the 2014 season-Don't like Gall much, but he has a lot of playing experience, better pass blocker than run blocker.

OC-Linder, Knighton, Loftus-I think Linder had a disappointing season, but the potential is there-Knighton got in for a few snaps and was perfect-I don't think Loftus will ever figure.

DE-Muhammad, Harris, Patchen, Bethel-Muhammad was by far our best DL last year, has star potential, I think Harris will be primarily a DE, solid, nothing more-Patchen is a wild card.

DE-Thomas, Jackson, D., Jackson, J.-Thomas, 5 star recruit without 5 star athleticism, expect him to be no better than ordinary, could be over taken by one of the Jacksons who are both very athletic.

DT-Moten, Willis, McIntosh, Fines-Moten, all things considered, probably our best DT-Willis, mystery-McIntosh, didn't flash as a true Freshman, Fines, will never see the field with the game in doubt.

DT-Norton, Jenkins, C., Martin-Norton, would like to see him lose a lot of weight-Jenkins, C. looked very good at times, but too often was a non factor-Martin, need him at DT, but I think he would be better as an oversized dE.

OLB-Grace, Gayot, Smith, King-Grace regressed last year, but came on strong at the end of the season, has star potential-Gayot, undersized, but when he played, he was spectacularly good-Smith looks very athletic-King, he can run.

OLB-McCloud, Owens, Perry, McCray-McCloud, spectacular highlights-Owens was historically bad as a true Freshman, then he got injured.

MLB-Quarterman, Young, Pickney, Gordinier-Quarterman, how do they keep this young man off the field-Young was sensational his first two games replacing kirby, then he stunk-Pickney will be very, very good-Gordinier, too slow.

CB-Elder, Wright, Jackson, M., Mayes-Elder, could be the best defensive player on the team, I thought he was last year-Wright, impressive highlights-you can lack blazing speed and still be a good CB, but you have to be very quick and agile, Jackson, M. & Mayes have none of those characteristics.

CB-Young, Redwine, Henely-Young, no choice, he has the necessary athleticism, hope he is a quick study-Redwine, big hitter, too slow, not quick.

S-Jenkins, R., Johnson, J., Finley-Jenkins, R. hasn't lived up to his talent, but he is talented-Johnson impressive first year

S-Carter, Knolwes, James-Carter, same as Jenkins, R., Knowles, big hitter, James, liked his highlights

I count 80 scholarship players..

Thomas not atletic? Lol man. When he knocks off some of that weight golden made him put on so he can make him 2 gap he will be back to form.

New to the U football but know that Richt demands that the backs can pass protect, the back that can do that the best will get plenty of pt regardless of not necessarily being the best runner.

Great job, El. Very helpful.

You've got Gus as our 4th option at RB. Wouldn't shock me if he moves to number 1 or 2. Similarly, I think Milo gets a shot at RT to compete with Sunny. We need help at OT.

lol Gus is high running garbage. He shouldnt see the field with Walton, Yearby, and Homer on the team.

LOL yea because Walton and Yearby looked so great last year
I guess im missing your point because Gus has never looked better than Yearby did last season even with that garbage Oline.

Both Yearby and Walton were outstanding pass protectors last year.

Looking at some of the successful Richt running backs, wouldn't be surprised if Choc, (combination of size and speed) didn't get a lot of burn, maybe even start if he can learn the playbook and execute protections. I like our running backs, but they will struggle if Stacy don't get the boys up front ready.

It will not surprise me if the RB lineup is dramatically changed. Except for maybe Yearby ALL the others are all on a level playing field--just a hunch.

All the Gus love for a guy who hasn't done anything of note here, sorry....I just don't get it. Yearby should be the starter, then after that who knows. I don't see it with Walton either so if he can figure out his blocking assignments, Homer will see the field.

The wildcard here is Gray....another guy hyped up beyond belief with almost nothing to show for it like Gus. Has he fixed.his ball security issues and if so, he may get a lot of playing time.

Facts.. Dude has shown no ability that warrants a start over any back you name. People just like him cuz he's big and fast and has the POTENTIAL to be great. But you're spot on.

They negged you but they know its true. Gus gotta show something first.

I think Yearby will excel in this system. Think Warrick Dunn at FSU scat back type that can catch out of the back field. May turn into a third down back though. Which suits him because he knows how to move them sticks.
