I posted this already on the Game Day Board but the mods didn't move it so I'm re-posting.
I've loved Golden since the day he was hired. But tonight gave me real reason to worry.
We just had no pride whatsoever. It looks like some guys just don't care. We made no adjustments. No strategic changes.
I went back and listened to what Jason Whitlock said when Golden was hired:
"Not a good game day coach." "Nothing special about his scheme." "Makes very questionable strategic decisions."
And I'm afraid I now think he's right.
Al is a great guy and a relentless recruiter but I think his scheme and coaching deficiencies will prevent us from ever being elite again. We can be a good team under him; beat up on poor teams, win some close games. But we'll never be the top dogs.
And that's a bitter pill to swallow.
