I see a bunch of staff bashing and people fusing it with how well UGA is doing. First thing first, Kirby didn't do anything Mark Richt didn't do at UGA. If there was a playoff earlier Richt would have had teams in there to play for it all. Next if this was still the BCS it probably would have been OU v Clemson for the title, which means Smart wpuld have had same season Richt had a few times where they missed out. My point is get off this Mark Richt can't coach and had a ceiling at UGA, i think its tired and bull.

As for our team, we are all mad about losing 3 in a row to end the season. But when you get to the business end and playing with the big guys, your flaws are exposed. I don't have any excuses for anyone but i know we have serious deficiencies in key positions. OL and QB mainly.

I also know Richt may seem like a soft spoken person but he didn't come here tp repeat what he did at UGA and these transfers are telling to me that they are letting the players know this $h!t ain't good enough. See he almost body slammed the **** ref. I expect more underachievers to hit the road and clear the way for more savages. Football is what have you done for me lately and we have lost 3 in a row but we will be better. I believe in these guys.

Great post. I believe as well. We will be better next year. We got work to do though. Let’s get it done!

Yes we know there was no playoff still doesn’t excuse Richt and his one SEC champion or not being able to beat teams like UF.

Kirby has his team playing for a championship regardless what system is in play. Richt is a good guy and a good coach but people are justified to doubt him.

Does anyone think he is soft spoken? He's very confident imo. Don't see how anyone could think that

Richt won the SEC twice and would have had atleast 3 playoff teams off the top of my head. I simply want people to put things into perspective and stop going overboard like the man don't know what he's doing.

I'm with you. I think we got the best coach available at the time and I'm riding with him for now.

I like Richt and I have not lost hope in him. But he is not immune to criticism like any human being on earth. And are you equating winning the conference with playing in the college championship game? I'm confused.

Like i said. Richt had 3 teams that finished with 1 loss, off the top of my head. 2 SEC titles. He clearly would have been in the playoffs if they were around at the time. And i also believe UGA would not have made the BCS if it was around this year. Therefore i do not believe Smart did anything that was so much more impressive than Richt. Yes it got stagnant at the end and people beat him up with the struggles against the lizards.

Said it in another thread. In 15 years Richt only finished in the top 4 twice heading into the postseason (2002, 2007) which he would needed to have been ranked to make the playoffs if the playoffs started in say, 2000.

Richt would not have gotten to the National championship in 2002. Georgia finished 4th in 2002. You know who they would of have had to play in the semi-finals in 2002? You Guessed it, The Number 1 Ranked 2002 Miami Hurricanes!! Are you ready to say Richt was a good enough coach to beat that Miami team? I'm going to assume your answer is no. So, he wouldn't have gotten to the National championship in 2002. His only realistic chance to make the playoffs and title game in his 15 years there was 2007 because that year was just a complete cluster f***.

Quick question.. we love to talk about the 2002 Georgia team.. since we say Kirby is only doing it because of Richt's players then does that mean Richt was doing what he did in 2002 because of Jim Donnan's players?

I love Richt but lets not pretend like even with a playoff system he would have been in the playoffs almost every other year.

Fake fans don't realize how far behind this team was dealing with golden and the administrators back then. **** no one seems to notice that freshman and sophomores run this team and effectively running the complacent upperclassmen away with their loser mentality. Ppl need to watch what's happening closely

It’s a different starting place remember the amount of talent Richt left uga(way more blue chip recruits) for smart who has since then added even more compared to the talent golden left Miami. That’s the main issue really. Look at the amount of starters on that uga team recruited by Richt compared to Richt at Miami who has most of his last 2 classes playing a lot more young players than uga.

In 2012 richt was one win away from the title game. Uga lost that seccg game to bama. Murray made the dumb pass and the clock ran out and they were about 5 yards out from the td. They would have beat that nd team in the championship.

The same Pat Ivey that lead the fake racism riot that almost ruined the Univeristy of Missouri. The team threatened to not play and he was one of the leaders of the cause that was a fraud. The school shut down a whole dorm the next year bc enrollment went down bc of the whole fake fiasco. What’s he doing now?

Those were grown men on UGA and Bama yesterday. We don't have that yet.

We never will with Felder in charge.

Should’ve gotten Pat Ivey.

Better playcalling is needed on both sides of the ball.

We will continue to improve talent and depth, but unless you are Alabama, you can't win on talent alone.

He’s Vice Chancellor there.

I defintiely agree with this take
