My Response to my season ticket renewal!

Say you grow up going to a restaurant. It becomes your family's favorite spot. The one you take friends and extended family out to eat when they come to visit. Over the years, ownership changes hands but the quality of the food and service remain relatively the same and your family happily continues patronizing the joint.

But say, 10 years ago, the quality goes down the *******. The customer service is terrible, bathrooms always backing up with raw sewage flowing into the dining area, rat **** in the cups, etc. What do you do? Do you continue going there, paying for the crap because it's your family's favorite place? Do you encourage others to do the same? Do you quietly inform the owner (very hush hush though or else other people will think you don't like the place)? But you continue going and spending money there so the owner doesn't really feel the need to make changes.

So, you continue eating literal **** and paying for it. All the while deriding anyone who points out that **** is being served and it's not acceptable.

It seems those who proudly proclaim that they are re-upping their season tix are simply **** eaters. To each their own I guess, but don't expect changes while you continue to cheer on the destruction of Hurricane football.

Good luck "spoon feeding" SLURPERS. You made a great analogy, that's probably lost on them.

A football team isn't a restaurant. Using your analogy, why don't you just leave? You don't like what's on the menu anymore, so stop whining about it and eat elsewhere.

You are one dense motherfvcker. What do you think the people who refuse to put money into UMs pockets are doing?

And please understand that I am a poster on this site as well. Im just as ****ed as the rest of the posters here. The decline of UM football has been an internal choice by the people who run this university, not something related to any external factors (other programs, the NCAA, street agents, etc...) I agree with the opinion that anyone who continues to give money and/or attend UM athletic events is enabling the very people who have chosen to destroy UM football.

In this country people vote with their dollars. That's why the OP started this thread. He's trying to rub his nose in the face of people who are passionate enough about UM football to come here on a daily/weekly basis by saying that he will put money into a failed product. I can only guess that he doesnt care about the success of UM football.

Such BS. No, he cares about UM football, and thus he's going to games and supporting the program. It's laughable that you think your silly boycott is somehow better for the program.

I never said that my boycott was better for the program. Its certainly better for me personally. I've given every internal blood pressure point that I can to this program. Being an avid fan is fruitless. For that reason, I personally have chosen not to travel for Canes games anymore. I can only speak for myself.

As for the topic as a whole, I'm not sure if a fan boycott will help or not. I can say that the massive fan uproar after last season's collapse seems to have propagated a handful of changes within the program already. So maybe there is some value in fan outrage. If the massive season ticket cancellations were not an issue, why would donna's media management folks have done they're whole #Renewed PR campaign?

I could be wrong, but by and large the concept that customer satisfaction matters tends to a time tested concept that companies put tons of money into ensuring. If Im wrong, then UM is the exception to the rule, not the rule itself.

As the restaurant customers are insulted and driven away, it slowly dies. The chref, and his staph, continue to put out a crap product, while insisting that they know what they're doing, and are only a couple of ingredients away. Reality is that the Miami consumer is more demanding then the chref's former cheesesteak chewer. The Miami palate, you see, is used to world class quality, and won't accept meatiocrity.

At some point, Gordon "Butch" Ramsey needs to be called in to shake things up, fire the incompetents, and return to the previous championship menu.

Unfortunately, the current ownership (a garbage management firm), doesn't feel the need to improve because they're getting fat subsidies from the ACC.

Oh. Look. A **** eater. How you like it, a la carte or with a side of Golden ***?

Why won't I leave? Because I'm not going to let a bunch of ******* **** eaters ruin my team, that's why. So how about you move along now and go **** yourself.

Just to seek clarity from the shills in this thread:

I should give my hard earned money to the University of Miami so they can give it directly to Al Golden(to the tune of $2.5m a year), or I'm not a fan?

It's not ok to support the team from home, on television? I have to give my money to Golden and his temple cronies or I should go choose another team?

Because that seems to be the message. Super fans don't give a ****. Super fans will throw their money at whatever the mighty university decides, with a smile on their face.

No thanks. I'd rather fly a banner.

Is it of any surprise that it is UM Athletic Department employees that are here trying to push this mindset??

No. I have no direct way of knowing, but DK72, UKnow, Centralrockets, CFLACANE, dukejuke, CaneFan235 and a few others sound exactly like AD employees.

No one is that damned dense. It's on purpose, as they're right on top of every derogatory comment. Gotta be getting paid. ****, Golden could personally hire a half-dozen retards out of the $2.5M salary, and all they gotta do is try to defend the indefensible.

Thus the dumbass comments.

Suggesting I leave - I was dropping by practice when Kehoe was a player. Dumbasses.

Gotta love how they're actually saying that UM football is not a business. As if Fat Al coaches for free and there's not big bucks involved (Adidas???). Everything about it is a business except the customers are supposed to eat the **** sandwich Golden and company are serving and beg for more. Wrong. It's a got**** business and the customers are ****ed.

Feel bad for all the fans who are showing optimism again after being months removed from last season..

What is there to be optimistic in? This is what I don't understand. We've done something that hasn't worked. Why would it all of a sudden work? What am I missing there? I'm trying to think it through logically and rationally but I can't see how people have made the logical leap to think that things will be different this season.

No logic or rationality Involved though.

Those fans are either very stupid, or sadly they have a serious mental problem.

i believe psychiatrists call it "delusions of grandeur".

When dealing with emotional SLURPERS, one must toss aside all logic and reason. Improvements will occur simply because of desirability, wishes, unicorn convergence, the alignment of distant star clusters, and gosh we really want/need it.

There are also those who are so invested in Grolden, that they can't face up to the fact that they may have picked the wrong horse.

Some like Grolden on superficialities: white shirt; orange tie; well scrubbed white skin; clean cut hair; speaks/lies well. He presented a reputed 300-page binder as a testament to his football knowledge. Never mind that his football IQ doesn't even rise to the level of Al Groh (a totally discredited LOSER), his mentor.

It's difficult understanding the illogical mind of a SLURPER. Indeed, I'm taking quite an intellectual risk in trying to do so. Pray for me.

Then go away and stop whining..and stop pretending to be a fan. Go to the FSU or UF or website of whatever bandwagon you feel like jumping on instead of infecting a 'Canes FAN site, since you are no longer a fan.

Not buying tickets is fine. Doesn't make you a better fan, it makes you an ex-fan. That's your choice. But don't pretend that both not buying tickets, and continually attacking the program and trying to undermine it to act as if you are that important, is to "help" the program as a number of the lunatics on here are trying to claim. As for the season ticket renewal campaign, they do a campaign every year.

No, what you do with your money is your choice. Telling those who DO choose to support the team that they shouldn't, however, is complete BS. Pretending that they are not good fans because they support their team is also complete BS.

No, we sound like fans, you sound like a moron. There are countless fans out there who think your stupid scorched earth policy towards the university is counter productive. Just because they don't all screech like toddlers having a tantrum as you do doesn't mean they aren't there. Nice to know I work for the UM AD. I'm going to have to start getting them to send me checks, since I haven't seen one yet.
