My Post Game recap

This mother ****** been here for two weeks and gonna act like he’s the only one around here who knows Miami football.

Bltch, I’m 40 years old. I’ve watched every championship game in Miami history.

You watched a 30 for 30 and think you know Miami football.

Agreed. ImmaHoaCane is straight garbage.

I feel what you're saying, but if FSU is a dogfight then there's something really wrong with this team.

I know it's a rivalry game & rivalry are usually close, but we've blown out much better FSU teams in the past.

They have a god awful OL, even worse than ours & they simply don't have the talent at the skill positions to be an effective Offense. Their WR's are garbage, they have no TE play (LOL & McKitty's dumbass) & all they have is Cam Akers.

Their Defense is extremely overrated, their Corners couldn't an empty wheelchair in an old folks home. The lost a ton of talent on their DLine & they don't have a dynamic Ramsey type that can make plays.

We should beat them handily this year, especially @ home in The Rock. Idc who's the starting QB, we should steamroll FSU if our team comes to play. The Defense better be ready to hunt that night, I really hope Diaz doesn't let Francis pick us apart.

FSU probably will have three losses going into their rival game with the Canes, which means it will probably a HIGH NOON game at the Hard Rock.

Agree but FSU recruits in the same backyard that we do and they have per national publications done a good job during the past few years.

So talent is there.

What is lacking are the other two elements that are needed to win along with talent: Development and Coaching.

Also forgot to show some love to Cager, he had some nice routes & catches today too.

He's coming into his own this year, glad to see him get a fade in the Red Zone. Completely inexplicable why we were running End Zone fades to Berrios & Harley last year lol.

I like this write up Lib is my boy, the only thing Malik will cost us I believe and now the defense will as well cause I doubt they stop bringing in JAGS to play.

Still don’t need to have both Cager and langham on the field at the same time though, they don’t create enough seperation consistently for me

Don't know why some think this is funny. It's the truth. Well, maybe because FSU is a dumpster fire, makes it kind of funny.

toledo isnt a weak G5. theyre well coached and have a potent offense. they'd def beat the bottom half of the ACC esp at home.

I'm not a "new" Cane fan been a fan my entire life & my whole family are Canes fans as well.

I'm aware that Toledo is a weak G5 & we were supposed to win with ease & we did.

No one is acting like we won the ACC because we beat Toledo, but a win is a win & I don't know any Canes fan that isn't happy after we win regardless of who it is.
Don’t even engage this dude El. I guess we ain’t supposed to watch em unless it’s vs ND or FSU.

Basically this.

It's disappointing that we've not taken the next step from year two to year three, but we're still in a much better situation than we were before Richt arrived.

i think the next step happens IF those highly touted OL recruits develop. also, even tho malik wasnt the issue today (i said all week that this game is a game where he wouldn't struggle given his success last year against them and it held true -- also a game you cant judge him on even if he played well), if Jarren or Perry become the guy next year or later this year, that'll lead us into another realm.

Offense:
Malik Rosier - 13/23 205yds 2TD's 8att 80yds 3TD's rushing
Deejay Dallas - 17att 110yds 1TD
Travis Homer - 16att 62yds
Jeff Thomas - 5rec 105yds 1TD 1att 19yds rushing
Lawrence Cager - 3rec 67yds 1TD
Darrell Langham - 2rec 23yds
Choc Gray - 3att 6yds 1TD

Offense gained 474yds total on 73 plays 6.6ypp with 268yds rushing. 7/15 on 3rd down.

Offense stepped up & balled out today, after receiving heavy criticism they absolutely came to play. They dominated time of possession 35:29 to Toledo's 24:31.

Malik Rosier had one of his best games vs Toldeo last year & today was no different. He really played well & carried this team to victory. He made some really nice throws, especially in the 3rd quarter that comeback route to Cager on 3rd & 9 was very nice precise ball.

He also killed it running the ball, I believe that should be a staple of this offense going forward. Malik shouldn't be asked to throw it 30+ times a game, he should get 25 throws & 10-15 runs every game, that opens up the run game for Deejay & pulls those Safety's back in the passing game.

Deejay is a great dynamic weapon & is emerging as a very consistent runner. Both he & Homer played well today. Deejay needs more touches as the season progresses, whether in the run game or in the passing game, he's electric with the ball in his hands & has gamebreaking homerun ability.

The OL finally woke up & provided great Run blocking at the point of attack, they opened up some really nice lanes for Deejay & Homer.

JT4! Jeff Thomas is a BEAST! He's our best offensive weapon, I love the reverse he ran today & the fact he's now been put in position as our #1 WR & he's filled that role perfectly. The kid's got lighting quick speed & can't be covered by anyone one on one, once he gets those turbo boosters sparked up on his cleats he's gone! He's gonna score in every game we play this season, as long as we keep feeding him he should have an All-ACC season. He's our version of Tyrek Hill.

Defense:
- Jaquan Johnson 7tcks total
- Mike Smith 6tcks 1TFL
- Gerald Willis 5tcks 3TFL's
- Sheldrick Redwine 5tcks 1sack & 1TFL
- Michael Pinckney 5tcks 2TFL's
- Shaquille Quarterman 5tcks .05TFL's
- Scott Patchan 3tcks 1sack & 1TFL
- Trajan Bandy 3tcks 1TFL & 1INT
- Joe Jackson 3tcks 1.5TFL
- Romeo Finley 3tcks 1PD

Defense gave up 334yds total 113yds rushing & 221yds passing. With 13TFL's, 4sacks & 1INT.

Defense played well in the 1st half holding Toledo to just 64yds rushing, but as soon as Jaquan went down they completely fell apart.

The very first play Bobby Knowles came in the game Toledo immediately recognized it & threw right at him. They were salivating as soon as they seen #20 out there. IDGAF what the issue is, NO MORE KNOWLES! He shouldn't see the field for anything more than Special Teams this year, not another significant snap the rest of the season.

I hope Quan is okay & healthy, but if he's not Gurvan Hall, Amari Carter, Rome Finley, Derrick Smith or **** even Gilbert Frierson need to play ahead of Knowles. Under no circumstances whatsoever should Knowles be in the field unless it's the last possession of the game vs FIU.

Liked what I saw from G Willis, Rome Finely made some plays in coverage early & Pinckney played better this week. Bandy made a great pick as well, he's really a great corner for us.

Overall this Defense gave up too many big plays in the 2nd half & those Zone Blitzes are going to kill us in ACC play, every Blitz we ran they audible & ran the play to the exact spot where the Blitz was coming from. Better teams will pick us apart with that. Diaz needs to be reevaluated at the end of the season, his Defense is just too inconsistent.

I predicted that we would win 44-17 & we did what were we supposed to do against a G5 team with far lesser talent than us. With FIU coming up that'll be another blow out too, but the real test starts with ACC play. UNC & FSU are literally the 2 WORST teams in the ACC, rivalry games or not we should steamroll both of them @ Home.

That'll tell us where this team really is, we can't have close games with those teams we need to put them away in the 1st half & keep our foot on their necks in the 2nd. Neither one of them have the talent we do, we can turn this season around after the LSU debacle with 2 convincing victories vs UNC & FSU.

I'm hopeful we'll get it done. Great Win for the Canes!
Love the post as usual but is FSU really down on talent this year or are they just under motivated and poorly coached? In other words, I think they just suck. The commentators of their game said that Taggart isn’t working with anything and should be judged on the guys he brings in, but isn’t their roster littered with 4 and 5 star recruits?? Like whats their recruiting class ranking the last 4 years? Taggart is not about to out-recruit Jimbo Fisher.

Watch out! We got a bad *** over here!

Rosier sucks, but just became the first player in Miami history to throw and run for two TDs in the same game.

Kill yourself.

Nobody said he had a bad game, you're the assclown that keeps trying to be the badass on here. You talk **** to anybody who isn't ****riding Rosier.

I know in 2016 & 2017 they actually had top 10 recruiting classes, but a lot of those prospects were highly overrated & haven't performed well at all.

I think they may have landed some high rated prospects, but none of them were on the OL & they haven't had a good WR since the Jameis era.

I think it's mainly been Coaching for them this season, Taggart doesn't seem to have the ability to motivate a locker room full of "me-first" type players that really haven't bought into a team concept. From what I've seen, they play like they just don't care like they could give a f*ck about winning or losing lol.

They give up quick & have no heart. That's why I think we should beat them big time this year, they not ready for War bruh. You can see it when once they get down by a score or two, they just tuck it in like "Fck this, time to go home!".

Deceased.

Orgeron is a fvvkin CoRch and he **** on Rix.
Suck my ****, mother ******, I'll say what the **** I want. I answered your ******* question and you're still a ******* ****. Don't put words in my mouth, I didn't say **** about it being our birthright, just because we're Miami. Rosier sucks, that's my opinion, now go **** yourself.
Grow up. Too many of you kids are unable to post without using profanity. Use of profanity is a reflection of your lack of maturity and intelligence.
