My Post Game Recap

Much better decision making from rosier on the read option/zone read this game as well.

Our run game lives and dies with his decision making on those reads. Him having successful gains of 7 or more keeps the defense from keying on Homer. Shout out to Coach Brown and Searels for the tweak to option off the interior Dlineman rather than the DE.

great wrinkle!
Agree with you 100%

Many times this season he would give the ball up when if he woulda kept it he would still be running.

I would love to see a pitch play with him the Redzone too. Defenses would never expect it, a last second pitch to Homer & he would walk in the end-zone.

Forgot to mention, how does a Kicker who was like 1/10 in Kicks 50yds or more just make it with no problem vs us?

I'm not even criticizing or complaining, I legit think it's kinda funny how like every **** opposing Kicker just drains all their FG's against us lol

Thought the same thing. Thing looked like it would have been good from 70.

Opposing kickers are a ridiculous 19/19 against us. If the tweet that I saw was legit

Bruh.. the fact Rosier only completed 7 passes to our WRs and we won 28-10 is mind blogging man. Had it not been for one of Rosier picks that basically gave them 7 points we would of won 28-3. Had we scored at the 2 yard line this game could of been 35-3. Had a kicker who is a career 1/11 from 50 yards doesn't make a FG kick from 50 yards it would be 35-0. Basically.. VT got lucky they scored at all.

I saw a lot of 4-2-5 Defense (something I been asking for). We have to stick with this as our base. Less McCloud more Bandy/Carter. Our run defense was BETTER with a extra DB instead of 3 LBs like we been doing. Bandy is those players we haven't been use to having in a while here. Tough, Physical despite his size, will lay his body on the line for the next man to make the tackle, runs AT blockers instead of around them to plug gaps. Back to back weeks I saw Bandy run full speed at a O-lineman and push him backwards. Dude is relentless. PERIOD.

I love Walton but Homer seems shows up a bit more in big games. On that 71 yard TD run Walton might see the hole and have the speed to house that. Homer is literally a home run threat. DJ Dallas finally getting some burn and man he is just making plays.

Also what have I been saying about needing a better run defense and run offense? Held them to 104 yards rushing on 2.9 yards per carry and we ran for 200+ with 6 yards a carry.

Rosier is the reason we need to recruit D-T QB from now on. I ain't a big naysayer of Kaaya but there were definitely plays where Kaaya would of took a sack where as Rosier ran and picked up 5, 6, 7 yards. It was really refreshing to be reminded we have a QB who actually used his legs unlike Harris, Kaaya, Morris. That was the biggest difference .. Rosier made it harder to sack him.

I read that McCloud only played 12 snaps.

Agreed. A pitch play would be clutch.

I think Richt hinged a lot on Rosiers ability to run the zone read/option.

I think it was a major point of emphasis this past week for Rosier to be comfortable in his athletic ability

When was the last time a DB made a play on the ball like Mike Jackson did on that deep ball? If we're going to use a FB put Herndon there and bring in a extra OL.

Weren't you s.hitting on UM all week saying we had no chance to win? FOH.

You're either with us or against us. Typical bandwagon comepinga

Great down field blocking by Ahmmon.

That's called team ball, might not be getting as many targets as you want, or playing at the level you expect, but when it matters the most you do what needs to be done to help your team win.

this play changed the game. it was tenuous with all of the interceptions, but this broke it open and gave us a comfortable 3 possession lead

Just rewatched the game so that i could key in on a few things. LCE's assessment is spot on. The team played inspired, violent football, and they were intent on making a statement. I think that's all that us fans have been waiting to see given the lackluster performances of late.

DL was wrecking &hit. OL held their own against a very tough VT DL. And that's why we won. We won in the trenches.

Malik ain't a Heisman candidate, but that guy is one ballsy SOB. Love his leadership skills and toughness. He's not afraid to extend plays with his feet when he has to. He's fearless, and the rest of the team feeds off that. His savage factor cannot be overstated.

The thing that i honestly am most impressed with and most proud of is our physicality. All 3 units of the team play angry, violent and want to punish the guy across from them. I absolutely love it. I've seen more physical statement hits this season than i have in all of the past 10 years combined. We were just way too **** soft under Randy and Golden. No one feared us.

We are back to our old ways of putting fear into the opposing team's minds, and that is huge. On Offense, our WRs are blocking CBs and tossing them around. That makes a statement. And Ahmmon's vicious block on that FSU DB was my play of the year. Laid that MF o-u-t. Left that dude curled up on the ground like a sick baby!

And the Defense is hitting. We punished that Syracuse QB. He's probably still sore. And we made Josh Jackson pay, yesterday. That dude will be a little nervous guaranteed the next time he faces us. Love the hit by Toolbox at the end of the game when he laid out Jackson after the INT. Another statement play -- We've kicked your a$$es, game over, now take this with you back to Blacksburg and get the kcuf out of here!

Love the mentality that we are playing with. Bringing back the old days!

Looks like they can convert their Liar Bus into LCE's mandated Blame Bus

Fighting for Children?!? Yeah, so was The Second Mile!

One of the greatest write ups in the history of write ups. That was the Ed Reed yeah I'm hurt dog speach of write ups

Still no positive mention of Homer in these recaps? Gotta happen one of these weeks, right?
Check comment #11 , or scroll up to #21 , I also post his stats every game.

I've never bashed Homer or said anything negative about him at all. I absolutely love Homer and have since day 1, I just don't hate Walton like you do.

You're the RB expert right? So go ahead right your own ****, or you can stay the off mine if it's not to your liking.

Well, you didn't mention Homer at all in your GT recap after he went for 170 yds & 2 TD's. Or his 33 yd game clinching TD vs. Syracuse. Or his 64 ys TD run vs. VT. Or that 400 yds in his first 4 starts is a pretty strong showing filling in for Walton.

But when Homer had a bad game vs. UNC you said - "for everybody that used to harshly criticize Walton for not doing anything against ACC opponents, I'm just curious what you'll have to say about this one"

I don't know, just seems weird. I'm generally negative, so I get the hate. But if you love Homer I figure you'd be showing him more love.

Since you hang onto my every word, tell me who did I mention in the GTech recap?

And I post Homer's stats after every single game, including this one.

As for UNC, the point was obvious to anyone who can read, and I clearly didn't say anything bad about Homer in that statement.

And do yourself a favor and go bump some old threads from earlier in the year way before the season started where I mentioned Homer.

You're reaching.

I don't ever down vote you. You down vote every post I make. I don't think I'm the one hanging on to your every word.

Your GT recap doesn't mention anyone's stats - but you did post video of Badgley & Langham and no mention of Homer - https://www.canesinsight.com/thread/post-game-recap-super-critical-staff/123674

I'm not at all saying you don't like Homer. But is it a reach to say if Walton were making the plays Homer has the last couple games, that you'd be calling them out in your recaps?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen any of your posts pointing out how good Homer has been.

I'm done with this back & forth man.
If you don't like what I write, cool that's fine, you can write your own recaps and talk about whatever you want.

I've got no issue with Homer, never have. My issue with you has always been your over the top Walton hate.
You even once said you would rather take Scarlett over Walton, so yeah I take that kind of negativity against our guy kind of personal.

I've explained numerous times my reasons for supporting Walton, even with that said Homer is a great RB & has done a terrific job filling in for him. If you want me to **** on Walton like you do, not going to happen.

This is over though, you don't have to read anything I post & I'll do the same for you. I apologize for down voting you, but this is a wrap.

No need to apologize for down voting or disagreeing with me. Different opinions is what the board is for. But I'll stay away from your posts and try to be more positive.

I hope you see now that when I said I thought Homer was a better RB than Walton, it wasn't to hate Walton. I just honestly think Homer's more talented, and the last couple games show at the very least, that's a reasonable position.

I never tried to make you say anything bad about Walton. But saying he's a top 5 college RB is as ridiculous to me, as me saying I'd rather have Scarlett over Walton is to you.

Props to Richt for a masterful gameplan and generally great playcalling. Not just the gimmicky trick plays they pulled out on the first drive but finding VT's weakness and exploiting the **** out of it. All the man coverage left wide open running lanes for Malik and they took advantage. The use of RPO was sgreat even though Malik missed a few simple throws and had a couple of misreads. My buddy and I were watching 22 on Tech and calling "run" or "pass" pre snap with lots of success.
