My only complaint

I was very impressed with the team effort and except for the INT it was an exceptional performance. We did get bailed out TWICE on stupid penalties that certainly helped our cause immensely. The defense played well and Baron was a force. Restrespo has a super A+ game for sure. The aquisitions that Mario made in the portal certainly made a major difference for sure. Two complaints for Mario and both should be addressed. First, is we burned 3 time outs for what? They should be held sacred and even though we didn't need them before halftime I think he is a buffoon the way he treats TO's. That has been a pattern since he's been here. Second, which is most egregious why was CAM in there so long? Williams should have been in the game way earlier to get more experience. The game was secured and we we had to do is run run run. **** No, he's got him throwing and scrambling and on one play he did get tackled. Did it ever occur to Mario after the Gators got whipped they would want to hurt CAM. We were very fortunate nothing happened to CAM and without him this team is very different. To me his decision to keep Cam in as dumb as the GT failure to take a knee. Great preparation by Mario, acquiring talent, and many postives to take from this game.

His effort on his catch where he got stopped on the 1 and then the throw by X definitely had me heated. But he had a great block to get Fletcher into the endzone. My one complaint from the game is we were only 50% in the redzone for TDs went 3/6. Other than that it was a pretty clean game all around.

All this talk about Brown.....does Ray Ray get a pass for dropping a easy TD? Its the first game..... expect both to improve they know others are behind them pushing for reps...

Ray ray fired!!!! Got his opp. Blew it!!! ****

Sam Brown tighten up. You missed the opportunity for two touchdowns half assing. Mario gone light you up this week, lol.

Other than that, no complaints A+ all around. We got something special.
My biggest issue was the wr’s. 11 , 5 and 2 had balls hitting their hands and missing them. That stuff can’t happen in close games . Ray Ray got ate up by the ball in the middle of the field.

Busted assignment on the long td too. Got to stay in your lane and keep contain , that was way too easy. 30 is too good to be missing kicks at the distance he missed. Every time I start to think he’s automatic he does that. All things that can be fixed and will allow the coaches to coach them up this week.

Worst part of the game was not converting the Restrepo reverse pass. The main takeaway is it’s great when that’s your biggest nitpick, blowing a middle finger trick play while blowing them out. But still, you gotta make that play.
You know what the best part was, TE involved, TE involved, TE involved!!!! Arroyo looked good and a mismatch.

Honestly if we aren't going to kneel we could at least run it up.

Missed FG, just not capitalizing on that pic was a let down.

Cams pic was a head scratcher. But the D had his back and he came back ballin.

Generally A-, just because of the stuff mentioned.

Also SMD isn't gone
Sorry my Hombre, this performance was an A. The interception and missed Field Goal drops it from an A+

Cam should have been taken out of the game. No histrionics please.

He kept Cam in (and other starters) because we failed to put the game away after Powell's INT. Yes, game was pretty much in hand, but there was still the entire 4th qtr to play after that int. The players got relaxed and the effort was not there. Offense became lethargic and then the defense started playing sloppy. Should have been up 45-10 early in 4th, but we let UF cut it to 38-17 with over 7 minutes to play.

I think we score a TD after the Powell int, then he pulls the starters for the rest of the game. Because UF got back within 3 scores with 7 min left, Mario wasn't taking any chances. UF had a chance at recovering that onside kick. 3 scores in 7 minutes is not probable, but also not impossible. Mario kept the starters in to close the game. Learning lesson.

In his post game presser, Cam said he didn’t want to come out. Wanted to get the kneel down to end the game but Mario made the call to get the starters out.

Mario left most of the starters in on offense during the final series, including Cam. He took every snap. We didn't kneel down to end the end the game.

I saw it live. Like I said, in his presser, Cam said he wanted to stay for the kneel down (if it happened). It obviously didn’t as Poff took the final snaps.

I think we're being too critical calling out Brown. Yes the offense seemed to lighten up in the 4th which meant we couldn't get the first team off the field, and he contributed to that. But Brown had a pretty good game overall. He had an excellent leading block to spring Fletcher for the score when we were up 10-3. I don't think he dogged that goal line tackle at all. I do think he should have worked to the ball harder on that the trick play pass from X. Probably gassed, which is definitely no excuse, but it's not like he's been in our S&C for as long as everyone else. Overall, our guy put it out there and will only get better.

I agree with you no doubt. I didn’t mention drops initially because as much as they suck, drops happen in football. Brown plays go in the effort category for me. The drops are in the error category for me. Both can get you beat, but effort in rivalry game should be 1000% no question. Shidddd he should have dived from the 5 yard line on the play he was tackled at the one yard line. On top of that, he looked as if he slowed down.

Ok, I was wrong then. I could have sworn Cam was still in there on that final drive. He threw that pass to Lofton for a big gain. I guess they took him out after that play. I was paying more attention to the RB, because I saw we didn't line up in victory formation and thought to myself, "Why aren't we taking a knee?"

sam did score the TD on that one play but you are 100% right. Ray Ray has to step up.

I think by VTech game Horton will overtake him regardless! I know Sam Brown is going to shake back but Horton has more multifaceted than I thought!
horton isn't perfect either. he has to stop with the drops. last year he did it two. a drop and 1 or 2 very good catches.

I was honestly saying the same thing “why aren’t we taking a knee?” Up 24 I can understand why to some extent. There was still about 4 minutes left. I believe Mario was not taking his foot off the gas as evidenced by the pass to Lofton and the pass from X to Brown (although it was incomplete).
