Let me start off by saying I am crushed. I knew what her answer would be when I asked her the question, but hearing it crushed my heart. I am so hurt to see the school I love fall this way and knowing we can't do anything.

So in short, I asked her at our Student Government meeting how could we allow for the leadership of our football program to perform at such a mediocre level.

The response?

You guessed it: THE CLOUD

She said how this is the first year technically for this staff because the cloud hasn't let them recruit.

She said we are better than some teams and some teams wish they were as good us.

She said we weren't mediocre.

It's over guys. Unless our next President really cares for athletics, this is it. We are going down. No one cares here and it starts at the top.

I tried, not much we can do. I'm crushed. My heart actually hurts. I have loved this school for so long and so passionately that to hear and watch this hurts.

I had all the stats about our recruiting classes compared to other schools and hearing her say that to me killed anything in me to fight anymore.

Fly all the banners. This thing is over.

Edit: I just want my CanesInsight Fam to rally now. The CanesFam is so clueless as to what's going on these days I don't want anything to do with them.

Root for non-bowl eligibility.

I don't care what she tells anyone...the amount of heat that would come down by not being bowl eligible in Golden's FOURTH FULL YEAR would be impossible to explain away.
 
She's certainly not going to say "meh, coach sucks, but he'll be someone else's problem in 5 months," which is probably what she's thinking.
 
Forget the record. An empty SunLife stadium will get him fired. Events can overtake their statements of support - and quickly.
 
I'm sure she was completely open and honest about the job status of a $2 mil employee with a student.
 
The influential, big money guys on the BOT got this. I ain't worried.

And you expected her to confide her thoughts and plans to a complete stranger?!? Really?

I have a bridge in brooklyn to sell you, half price if you hate Golden!
 
She's a politician. She'll cave to the fan uproar just like she did with Shannon. And if she doesn't, then she needs to be fitted with a white robe and hat.

I asked her if they were even looking into the situation just to see what they are thinking. She could have remained political about it and still said we are aware fans are upset but no she said the exact opposite. She basically said they are nowhere near looking into Golden and his staff and said we have a very good staff.

This is why I think that any future banners should focus on names like Donna or the Board of Trustees instead of golden or dorito. THEY are the ones who need to be publicly shamed. Golden does that to himself every time he takes the sideline against a team in the top 50.
