I've got Miami winning the first three games handily so I won't do a prediction for those.

Coming In:
Georgia Tech will be playing their 5th game of the season and fresh off playing Clemson.

Coming in Miami will be fresh off a bye week playing their 4th game of the season.

That extra week will give Manny Diaz and Mark Richt time to prepare for an always difficult option running attack that requires much discipline from the players. Good News Mark Richt is 13-2 against Georgia Tech!

Georgia Tech Returns 6 Offensive and 5 Defensive Starters

Who to watch out for
Offense: Justin Thomas will the turnover prone 2015 Justin Thomas show up or will the one that led GT to 11 wins and a Orange Bowl win in 2014 show up?

Defense:

SO LB Brant Mitchell will be one to look out for on the defense he received one vote for ACC Defensive rookie of the year. This may be a breakout sophomore season for him.

Strengths
- Rushing Game
- Experienced offensive skill positions
- Healthy Justin Thomas

Weaknesses
- Defensive Line
- Lost four starters in the secondary
- Offensive Line

What happened last time these teams matched up?
QB Justin Thomas was injured in the first quarter.
QB Brad Kaaya threw for 300 yards and had 4 pass plays go for 25+ yards.

Miami forced 4 turnovers and got out to a 31-7 lead in the third quarter. GT scored some garbage time TDs.

Questions for Georgia Tech
- Which Justin Thomas shows up 2014 or 2015's failure?
- Will last years experience pay off for the offensive skill players?
- Losing all 4 Starters in the secondary from last season who can match up and stop Miami WRs and matchup nightmare Njoku from going crazy?
- Can they keep up with the tempo of a new look high energy offensive attack from Mark Richt?

Questions for Miami
- With two true freshman LBs starting can the young hitters stay disciplined in their assignments against the triple option?
If not don't be surprised if this is a tight game.

- Will Manny Diaz aggressive style lead to many TFL this game? Will he be too aggressive and GT breaks off some big runs?

My prediction
Miami wins 30-10.
GT defense can't stop a flea. Kaaya and the offense go for 500+ yards of total offense. Miami Running game solid here as well. 350+ passing 150+ rushing.

GT dominates time of possession to prevent us from dropping 40+ on them.

Miami defense forces a few turnovers and we leave Atlanta with the W.

4-0 now. Next up FSU.

Coach Richt is 13-2 against GTech, so he knows exactly how to prepare for them without problem.
The only thing I think we need to emphasize on Defense, is getting early on interior pressure with the DLine.
As long as G Willis, McIntosh & Jenkins are stout upfront and cut short those 1st down runs to force them into 3rd & longs, I think we'll cruise and drop a clean 35+ on'em.

This will he my first time going to a game at GT. I've been to ATL a thousand times for Braves games the last 15+ years, but never once went to a GT game.

I do think we'll roll pretty easily as well. I can't wait.

if we can beat Gtech with coach Donuts then we surely can with Richt. if we start out 5-0 with a FSU W the next week i expect a big year. 11-1 is not out of question, but think 9-3 or 10-2 is more realistic

I can guarantee that this will be the best Miami visiting crowd of the year. Canes fans show up in the ATL. I'll be there with my son. Tailgate ate the parking deck and support the guys.

All comes down to discipline when it comes to the option, stop the dive first. Defensive end takes the pitch man, linebacker/safety takes the running back. The backside has to stay home in case of a reverse. Coach Kul should have the line playing nasty and as long as the offense takes care of business we should roll. It's imperative that we get up by two plus scores early to make them pass. We put up 40 plus and roll into FSU week undefeated and confident.

Quite possibly McCord's best highlight in a Miami uniform. I thought he killed the dude.

I actually think the App State game will be harder than this one. I don't see us losing to App State but I can imagine not pulling away until the 2nd half. If GT is half as bad this year as last year it should be over in the 2nd quarter.

You read my f'n mind!!!

Beating GT is never the problem. **** AG only lost once to them. The problem is the following week. So much goes into stopping the option. Since we joined the ACC I don't think we have ever won the next game after GT unless a bye was in between. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Going to be a good Miami crowd. Coming from Texas with a crew of Army Vets/ Miami Boyz from all over the country.

Uhhhhh.... last year. 2014 too. Had a bye after in 2013. Did it in 2012 also.

We did it last year, we beat GTech then the following week we beat Pitt in the last game of the regular season.
We did it in 2013 as well but we had a bye after we beat GTech, then beat UNC.
Then again in 2012, we beat GTech and the following week beat NC State.

You have to make GTech play from behind. Go up 14-0 early that takes them out of their game plan. App State won't be a cakewalk IMO though.

anybody going to the game or wanting to go please keep track of our atlanta fb page , atlanta canes or our twitter page AtlantaCanes for meet up and or ticket info if you are not a hurricane club member

Agreed. You always know how a GT game is gonna go by about the end of the 1st quarter. You get that early lead and show early you can stop or at least slow that option attack down, and it'll be the most enjoyable game of the year to watch. Over by halftime. If not, it'll be a close one, where you wonder how the **** we're not killing these guys.

For those of you who have not been to the Joke at the Coke (aka Bobby Dodd Stadium), a couple of notes from someone who is there every other year...

First, when you go to their site and look at the section map of the stadium, that is not artistic simplification on the lower section. It is a square. That means the lower half of the sideline seats are prone to having part of the field cut off from view.

Second, the north end zone upper deck (sections 210 to 219) are some good seats. I normally go for 215 or 216. You are over the tech band so you don't have to listen to them. If you bring a band they will be down in 130-131, and you can see and hear them. the replay board is high in the other end zone, so you can see it well. And the seats are doubled. You know, the one tiny aluminum bench you normally get to sit on? Up there you get two, and a lot of leg room. At night it is really pretty up there with the Atlanta skyline. Day games? Good thing you are U fans because it can be really sunny and hot hot hot that time of year.

I will leave it to others to explain The Varsity and J. R. Crickets.
